Their are cottage food laws that allow you to sell certain foods without needing to be licensed. Just depends on.the state your in and their requirements. I'm in Texas ours is pretty good they've even expanded it. You can make pretty decent income without having to go legit.

@@shiflett82 Cottage food laws do not apply to all goods. If that icing is made from dairy products, it's not covered. It also doesn't protect you from getting sued if someone gets sick because you prepared food in a personal kitchen.

I thought this too. I am slightly worried for her. I hope there's a safe place that she can keep her takings for the day because an addict needing a fix wouldn't care that she's an elderly lady trying to get by. I have literally seen (with my own two eyes) a lowlife snatch up an elderly newspaper seller's profits for the day from his stand when his back was turned. She is elderly and if she worked prior to retirement she is entitled to the retirement funds that were taken out of her pay every month -- it should be equivalent to a livable wage now but it isnt for many. I can tell you that retired millionares are collecting their checks as well and complaining about the amount despite having other income sources. You can hustle your way into poverty as well. We should all take advantage of the systems that are available. You don't become wealthy by passing up free money.
