Wow! Those locks are amazing. I always thought it would be fun to ask someone to unlock the heart and retrieve an engagement ring as a marriage proposal never popping the question or divulging what was in the box. If they are intelligent enough to retrieve the ring then they are excellent marriage match for you and then you ask them to marry you. Silly but fun fantasy. I like the apple best.💕😊👋🏼🇺🇸

I love the luban locks. They hold a special place in my heart. When I was young my father had a few of them.I haven't seen them in 30 years but could still remember what order the pieces went in while you were building the square one.. Beautiful ❤️💞. Thanks

No it's not. China invented these kind of stuff like many thousands years ago They use this technique for houses, palaces or security box where people can put their jewelries or small stuff lol 😂 Cuz back then there r no nails or hammers so basically all they got r woods and they use a specific way to secure the wood and stuff

If i'd like to build Luban locks myself, or at least try it, where could i find some plans - i've only found some literature by Tang Yunzhou, but i don't know if that's a good start for me coming from Austria, not really fluent in chinese ^^ and with really i mean not at all, or do you perhaps know some other sources? Me: Sweetheart, inside this little heart shaped box is our engagement ring. If you can open it, and take the ring out, we will get engaged. But you can't break it, and after opening it, you have to put it back together again. My blond girlfriend: Tries for one week, gets upset, and smashes the box with a hammer. Me: Sigh.... What a relief!

You may google ” Burr puzzle " that is 2 purpose , for fitting something , u might need 4 part of Luban lock to made a support for table or chair leg , i have seen a carpenter using this method and created small table leg (only 3 leg ) another one , it is ancient kid's toy

My Father gave me toy that were like the puzzles you have made and from learning each and ever one it led me to a path in mechanical engineering. I have never been attached to worldly things even though I have collected many, over time when I would find a child with a curious mind I would give then away. I was blessed with a good memory, I keep your videos there they keep me happy that when I look back how far I have come where a curiosity has carried me. I hope your grand son keeps that same curiosity. Thank you for all you do.
