During my apprenticeship as a CNC machine technician, I was praised for my 3D imagination ability. But to design such a structure only from your own imagination .... I think there are only a few people in the world who can do something like this without a computer and only with a hand saw, rasp, hand plane and sandpaper. INCREDIBLE!
So would you still be using a manual bandsaw to cut the actual blocks first and then CNC the notches into the blocks later? Or could you CNC everything and all the blocks from a solid slab of timber?

Grandpa Amu is a rare generational craftsman. Watch his hands - not the first time he has done this. Much in the way oral history was passed down, I can only hope that someone in his family has the will to learn from his or her elder. It takes time, patience, the right tools and the wisdom to know how to use them. Your people are lucky to have your skill set. I was lucky enough to have a grandfather to teach me hand wrought woodworking. At the time I was a little thick headed and it took 20 years to really understand the lessons he was trying to teach but now the satisfaction I have from those lessons (and passing them on) brings the same kind of smile. I thank you for taking the time to share your art.

@VideoFusco3 жыл бұрын
@@cylus_sector9 you can't be sure of this, especially when there are so many cuts due to the large number of pieces machined. There is no evidence that, apart from the things seen in the video (which are never complete machining of pieces of wood, but only a few seconds of each stage), no mechanical or electronic tools are used.
@cylus_sector93 жыл бұрын

I could go on but don't mean any harm and I don't want to offend you, just saying that it can be satisfying to create something without the help of electricity. p.s.: The boards he started with are probably machined, I agree.
