Let's explore a more than 3000-year-old Egyptian temple located on Luxor's east bank - the symbol of eternal Egypt. The temple of Luxor, known also as “Ipet-resyt” - “the southern temple”, constituting along with the Karnak Complex a “spine” of the main city. The city of Thebes, as Luxor was called in antiquity, held one of the most important religious festivities in ancient Egypt. Opet Festival, which took place annually in the Luxor Temple, granted ancient divinities renewal of their powers and let the pharaoh receive the royal Ka as well as meet the divine father - Amun-Ra.
Both most important religious sites on the East Bank - the Complex of Karnak and the Luxor Temple were joined by the Avenue of Sphinxes, which has been recently opened for visitors. The opening gala was as spectacular as the Pharaohs’ Golden Parade.
Abu Simbel - • THE GREAT TEMPLE OF TH...
Let’s get a closer look at temple’s precincts and massive granite statues and obelisks built by Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Amenhotep III, Ramses the Great, as well as at stunning decorations made by Tutankhamun, Ay, Sety I, and Horemheb.
Join me to get to know more about the ancient history, beliefs, and architecture of this wonderful place!
Explored in February 2022.
It's a must-see full episode / documentary video for all of you, who visit Egypt or Luxor for the first time. To appreciate and cherish the magic of the place before you travel to Egypt, Luxor or Upper Egypt watch this. My vlog / full documentary will give you a little taste of ancient wonders: ancient architecture, ancient beliefs, and ancient history.

What can we say about Luxor Temple ?...amazing place !. Ramesses the 2nd really was a so n so. He carved his name into EVERYTHING. Even if you can't read hieroglyphics, you will recognise his cartouche if you go to Egypt, because it is EVERYWHERE. I wish I could meet him and say "what's that all about dude". Anyway AS, your Reeboks still look box fresh....peace to ya.

If there were wooden elements, such as doors, there will be no trace of them today because it is not only a much less durable material than stone, but also because it was exclusive for centuries and was taken away (not always legally;)) to be reused in other constructions. My guess is that there were wooden elements, definitely wooden poles with flags adorning the pylon and perhaps doors.

I was looking forward to watching this video and maybe some more but as soon as I heard "BCE" I stopped. There is no common era; the term is meaningless. BC (Before Christ) is exactly what the term means. Yes, I'm a Christian and I don't know what you are, but why trade a meaningless term for the term that describes exactly what it is. Like it or not--our calendar is based on the life of Jesus Christ.
