I was trying other tutorials but they skipped over so many details that would cause it to break. This was so well explained thank you!

Thanks, I followed step by step, paused, thought, re-watched, paused agin, re-did the step, over and over until I figured it out … and it worked perfectly. At first I attempted to work it out by using logic and dead reckoning … I’m an idiot for trying that approach, lots of specific steps which would take weeks of trial and error of waisted time. Now I will attempt to apply my limited knowledge of rigging to my specific project. Thanks again

As I was adapting your rigging concept to my model I stumbled upon some interesting shading, in the “Viewport Shading” drop-down I set Lighting > MatCap > silver ball, and Color > Random. The “Random” gives each part a unique color. Selecting different MatCap shaders produces some interesting combinations..

I have to set it to 238, instead of 240, as I found the last frame jerked before returning back to the first frame. I don't know why, 60 x 4 should be 240 but cannot use this number. Is this anything to do with interpolation not setting to constant? I'm using v3.10 of Blender.

what if i would want to add another cylinder on top of the pistons that represents the gas? how would you add it to the rig so it can sclale up and down with the pistons?

Amazing! Thank you very much for this tutorial. I want to make another piston right next to this one, but with reverse animation, when one goes up the other goes down, does anyone know how I should put the numbers in the animation to achieve this result?
@GraphicsMK9 ай бұрын
I think you can make it giving 180 degrees difference between the rotation values.
@Ferrik259 ай бұрын
@@GraphicsMK for some reason it speeds up :( I'll try with differents values. Thanks! Edit: I had set the values to positive and when I changed them to negative it worked perfectly. my bad. Thanks a lot!

Tesekkurler, my friend. Very nice video. But why does the cursor move to the piston joint with the piston rod? What makes it go there?

the end in (7 IK constrain axis) doesnt make sense nor does it work for anything outside static shots of piston motion please show how to setup dynamic piston motion instead of presuming that we want a static piston as limiting the rotation will prohibit most forms of animation for the engine and will break if the engine is rotated in any real way (say if the car is doing drifts or flips)

9:30 everythings going a little bit different (as always in every tutorial i need). I cant set "360°" there are no °. just a number, and only can rotate to 180° (hardly, then stops even if set 400 or more) and there is a weird W in Rotation... help, someone -o-

ah, the "mode" was set on "Quaternion XYZW" for some reason... just used XYZ Euler and it works...
