19:44 This is such a beautiful shot. I'd never think that computer monitors could make such nice diffuse lighting, the balance of the subject against the colors of the background. There are so many little pieces like this all through this documentary series. I'm a dev and of course, I love the content of the story telling but, the art isn't left behind. It makes the story sing.

I've watched all the Docs. And a bunch of the mini-docs. They are so good. The Ember.js one was especially touching to see the community aspect. They are really well done. They do such a good job of humanizing the developers behind these projects. It's easy to just see them as github projects, pull requests, stars, twitter comments and even speakers at conferences. These docs get to heart of who these people are outside the context of code or just technical problems. Do you have any other work I could see? I'm actually curious about that and maybe even some behind the scenes/making of stuff. You guys are flying around the world, talking to interesting people. Just a thought. Keep challenging yourselves and making beautiful work.

@@slackstation We are working on a ton more documentaries - bigger productions this time. I can tell you a little bit of secret insider information if you like: The next major project we are working on is so big that it will have to be split into two parts, and for it we will be collaborating with a company who's name rhymes with Doogle 🤫 don't tell anyone! Behind the scenes isn't really something we do, but I sometimes post behind the scenes video to my personal Instagram. You can find it here if you're interested: instagram.com/josiahmcgarvie/

Can’t praise this documentary enough. First of its kind, not too nerdy, inspiring. Gentle music, transition shots and silence used wisely. I love that the focus stayed on the developers, not the person asking the questions. It showcases how an amazing group of engineers put in the hard work and creativity to solve a problem and make the solution public.
