@bluegrassrootstv , I agree! Jimmy lives just down the road from my grandparents, he IS the best fiddle player I've ever heard.

I went to high school with Jimmy. He and my older brother were friends. He was really good then...can't believe he is now playing with Garth Brooks. He is probably the most famous person to come out of our little town of Leitchfield, KY.

This version for entertainment purposes, shows Jimmy whoopin' it up. However, let me tell you he can play a serious version with every note so full and pure with brilliant tonal colors you will not hear in fiddling very often. His old cassette tape version is a work of art if you like beauty and taste in fiddling.

2:50 the reaction of the crowd as the fiddle kicks back in is nuts!

Jimmy Mattingly is the best fiddle player I have ever heard. But I may be prejudiced because I've known him since he was 7 years old.

jimmy is the best fiddler ever, dont b eleive me? watch him play for garth brooks, live in ireland, halfway through the show and his bow is trashes, string flying everywhere, fiddle strings snap, its intense

Tearing up a fiddle doesn’t mean squat. If it did Doug Kershaw would be greatest of all time. Used to trash 3-6 just on Orange Blossom Special

I think it's a bit too fast . But if you slow it down it could sound really nice.
@kishintuchis7076 Жыл бұрын
WAY TOO FAST . SOUNDS FRANTIC . SHOULD BE PLAYED AT A MODERATE DANCE SPEED

You have to understand… this is not a competition version of the song, believe you me, he can play the competition version as well… 2 grand master championships can attest to that.
