wow, that's incredible I didn't realize ur kids were the ones producing the videos the editing is always amazing! You could do more of a vlog-style video showing a day in the life or ur food cellar tour, or how the cellar is aging and what concerns u have for old builds in the future. Your rotation grazing or retentive farm management process and goals. Your garden always looks cool in the background.

Yeah they’re pretty good, I’m all thumbs with editing😁 We are working on a paid subscription side of our channel. We’re thinking $4.99 a month. It will allow viewers to see a more behind the scenes vlog style/raw content. It will weed out the trolls and give our followers a better connection with us. What do you think? We’re always looking for feedback. Thanks, Jack
@jacklawver44035 ай бұрын
I don't know, that may be a good idea, I'm just not super familiar with running a channel. I do know some KZfaqrs do that exact thing on Patreon It is a little less censored from my understanding than KZfaq is. They would pre-release vids and post unedited content there. I'm sure some of your followers myself included would also enjoy some sort of merch. I know some people would live stream things on KZfaq and then publish the stream as a raw video on their patron.@@tickcreekranch

10:05 when I was a teenager I worked at a Hereford Beef Farm. Half my pay was taken in fresh meat for the family each week. Best tasting beef I’ve ever had. I hope you enjoy. 13:44 I was paying $2.00 per pound in the late 80’s early 90’s for my Hereford Beef. She charged us workers cost so 1.81 is a great price

Thanks Chris. We’re planning on putting our SP bull on some Herefords if we an acquire more land. If we get to the point where we’re butchering on the ranch, we can expect to cut that cost in half again. What part of the country were you in back then?

Definitely leaning more and more towards going somewhat off grid or basic homesteading. With that said, this was a harder one to watch for me. I am a carnivore and I make no assumptions as to where my meat comes from but just don't have the stomach to do it myself (maybe I'm a bit soft like that!!) so I appreciate those that can do it and I don't have issues buying from them and paying for the work they put into providing a product. Pretty sure when the zombie apocalypse comes I will be eating a lot of salads and gathering the firewood! Lol... Regardless I do appreciate the content.

It’s understandable especially if this wasn’t part of your upbringing. The vast majority of us have become so disconnected from our food and where it comes from. Just to be clear, when I was a kid taking life was easy. As I’ve gotten older it’s become more difficult and there is a sense of remorse when I kill something. One of the hardest things I’ve ever done was shooting two of our old horses when it was their time. I was a mess😞
@NavyCopMA15 ай бұрын
@@tickcreekranch My parents were both military and non hunters as well so you are right I was not brought up with it (but was also not hidden away from the reality) though I had and have friends that get their tags each year and are out for the seasons. Luckily all of those that I know are also very ethical hunters. I've seen enough shows that prove the food disconnect point to where kids can't recognize different fruits and vegetables when shown to them (won't even go into the failings of education). Sorry to hear about the horses. I'm thankful for veterinarians as well when it comes to that part of life. I know I lose it every time a pet has to be put to sleep but I am also very single these days so they are as much a part of the family as anyone (and I ramble!). Just goes to show reality is not as easy as a lot of these kids think it is and showing even short snippets of it can do nothing less than teach that to them.

I like your break down on your cost but u should always count the cost of the animal so if you were to sell that beef to a private party how much could u have got for them and thats your purchase price. Your channel is doing awesome someday ill get my regenerative channel to grow its been slow going lol
@tickcreekranch5 ай бұрын
True, but we are looking at it like when we cut fire wood here that only costs saw fuel. I don’t consider the potential value of the wood if I were to sell it. If you did consider the price of quality grass fed I’m not sure I’d let anyone eat it lol. $10 to $25 a lb makes me…😬
