Grass Flap Update|Issues and Would I buy again?

In this video I review my experience the last 60 hrs of using the Grass Flap brand chute blocker. I have had a few issues, but would they prevent me from buying it again? Do I recommend you buy the grass flap?

LOCTITE 263. Anything that vibrates like a mower, put a lock washer and a nyloc nut and the loctite 263, and no worries.

great update, I'm rained out today from run-in the new unit for the first time so just checking out more videos on the grass flap so hopefully I can get out in front of any possible issues. thanks for sharing

I have had 4 grassflaps on Ferris Z2 , z3, walk behind units and have been great. Always run cable straight as possible and long sweeping curves and the cable will last 2 years or more. And always check hardware with mower maintenance. I have used all the other ones handle, motor, homemade. Grassflap with foot peddle and being able to feather it gives u total control without moving a finger.

easy fix but them blockers have a lot of moving parts. I made a really simple durable one

I had the same problem with mine I drilled a hole though the bolt and put a cotter pin I just pulled the cable ones a season so it doesn't for and snap

Maybe thread locker and locking nut?

Hey! I have the same mower and your oil changing video was really helpful and easy to follow. Did you ever consider buy the Qwikchute for your Wright? I was a big fan of the grass flap but have heard SEVERAL people say that the cable goes bad, doesn't work right (open/close), or that the pedal gets in the way. A friend of mine has a fleet of Wright's for his business and installed Qwikchute's on all of them because him and his crew absolutely love them! I didn't like the idea of having to drill into the deck but it looks pretty solid. I contacted Wright to see if drilling into the deck would void any warranty coverage on the deck and mower and they stated that it would NOT void the warranty whatsoever. Only way of voiding the warranty would be if you alter the performance of the mower in anyway. Although I think the grassflap is an awesome tool, I decided to go with the Qwikchute..

The Qwikchute looks awesome but to me has one fatal flaw on a stander....you have to take one of your hands off the controls to open/close. I use my Chuteblocker probably more than 100 cycles of open/close a day and I mean some times I am at full speed when I do. Having something that was foot operated was a must as taking your hand off the go levers at full speed is a recipe for disaster. The way I mounted it there is no drilling anywhere and it works perfect. I also routed the cable so it has a super smooth bend and should last many years. I would buy another in a heart beat.I looked at all the blockers on the market and even thought about making my own but think the CB is the best for the Wright.

I assume once you install that you can no longer use the grass catcher is that correct? I’m looking for a shoot blocker where you can also catch the grass if you want to if that’s possible

I dont know as I have never used a grass catcher.
