*I played my theme music during the tour of the Gallopin Goose to get around the copyright music inside the bar. Also, Waylon did make a detour for a short time during this time play in Salt Lake City, and fell in love there with the saloon owner (eventually married her) but came back. I figured that story was for another Vlog in the future

Back in the early 80s I got to meet Waylon I was working at a drugstore in Brentwood( community right outside of Nashville) and his home was nearby He came in day and went over to the magazine section I went up to him and asked for his autograph He said " Why sure honey" He was tall and so good looking I was so sad when he passed as he is one of my favorite country singers A rebel with a heart of gold Thanks Jordan☺💝🎆

My friends dad was good friends with Waylon. He had a gold record of his that Waylon gave him. After he passed, Waylons wife sent my friends dad some guitar picks of Waylons. I met his old road manager in Alabama. We hung out at the studio down there together. He said Waylon was the real deal and never really got over what he said to Buddy the night the plane went down.

Great video! Waylon is my favorite entertainer by far. Got to see him live 4 or 5 times and was never disappointed. He had it all - the voice, a unique guitar player, wrote songs, took no crap, and had unbelievable charisma. I visited his grave several years ago and felt overwhelmingly sad. My wife bought his book for me recently and I enjoyed that, too. He didn't hold anything back, good or bad.

I grew up listening to Waylon’s music! Not only did my parents have his records my dad had his music on 8-track and would play it on the 8-track player in this old pick up truck! It’s great to see inside of the Gallopin’ Goose. I love all of the tributes that they have to him all over the walls! I still listen to his music and have it on my phone! My teenage kids even like listening to Waylon! 😎❤️ Excellent vlog as always! looks like you had some excellent weather while you were in Arizona! Since I just found your channel a couple months ago I have been binge watching all of your old vlogs! Your channel is one of my favorites! 🕶❤️

Wow!! I never knew of Waylon's history with the Gallopin' Goose in Coolidge, Az; or Lee Hazelwood's. I like Lee's songs, sung as a duet with Nancy Sinatra, in the late 60's. There is the Gulden Era Museum in downtown Coolidge, owned by Fred Gulden, and the Casa Grande Ruins, as well, that are quite interesting. Coolidge has been, shall we say nicely, an "economically challenged" town for quite a while. Coolidge, and the other adjacent small towns, adjacent to it will dramatically gentrify in the upcoming years with that new Nikola Motors fuel-cell /electric truck plant that will be operational in a few years. The CEO of Budweiser is so impressed with these upcoming "earth/environmental friendly" trucks, that they have an advanced order for 800 of them! Thank you Jordan for the great research digging up these factoids, and for your passion, in your delivery, and presentation of them!!

You gotta hear the Ned Kelly soundtrack. Wayland sings the title song and five more songs, Kris sings three, Mick sings one almost a cappella, and Tom Ghent, a singer-songwriter from Rhode Island, sings one. The songs were written by Shell Silverstein, another singer-songwriter, poet, author from Chicago. The album came out in 1970. Yes, the movie is a little campy. It gets the story across, but the songs, THE SONGS....and THE SINGERS....just excellent.

I grew up in LA listening to surf and folk music. I liked to hang out at the Pasadena Ice House. In those days, 1966-1968, The Ice House was the premier folk venue. Went to Northern Arizona University School of Forestry (Flagstaff). The only music played at KAFF was country. The first country artist I liked was Waylon and the song that began, "Living on free food tickets...." I became a C/W fan after hearing him and Johnny Cash.

A West Texas 50's r'n'r and Waylon fan over here..I've loved it. You know Waylon's roots pretty well. Just two little points, what Waylon locked at Grand Central Station was his Fender Precission bass, not Buddy's guitar. Between Lubock and Coolidge, Waylon lived for some months in Odessa TX, and worked at KOYL radio. I've been in Littlefield a couple of times, and in case you haven't been there i really recommend you. Thanks for this great video.

The reason they're flooded is how they irrigate a lot in PHX and surrounding areas. Its known as "flood irrigation" and works very very well in the valley and uses minimal water. Sadly your feet will get wet but its the best way to maintain the grass and trees... very cool video though and i really dig the shirt!

However, almost every time Tucson would have its rodeo, they would always feature local country bands and Waylon was almost always there to support them. Jordan.the flooded area at the cemetery is something we used to do everywhere in Arizona. If had noticed the germs they are to flood the grasses so we don't waste water. It's not heartbreaking nor disrespectful it's just a way to keep the grasses green.

Lots of Arizona cemeteries flood. The veterans cemetery on cave creek rd flooded so bad one el nino year that it washed out a bunch of caskets. When it rains here the water runs downhill so fast there isn't anywhere for it to go. My mom knew waylon back in the early 70s, she worked reservations at greyhound park ( the dog track) and he was in a lot.
