Even hand luggage can / should be locked. Once you get through security before boarding lock you have luggage as well. Keep keys on you during the flight

How did he know which passenger to pick? If he was doing it randomly, then he must have had many misses! I like the suggestion to lock your handbag, which hardly anyone does, after the 9/11restrictions on locking checked in bags. Eye opener
