As someone who lives in Greece this couldn't be more true. The EU forced us to shut down our coal plants, even though they JUST sold us equipment to renew it and we have our own coal. At the same time it is well documented that many forest fires have been intentionally caused, in order to put "green" wind turbines on our mountain peaks (which are sold to us by Germany) that will supply the EU with electricity. I have a lot of respect for countries like India that put their people first (or at least much more than any of the "civilized" west)

What if the nation's that are exporting their product start to rationalise on the demand that whatever the purchase will be. It will be in local currency. I would love to see the impact 😂

I always find it funny how everyone thinks that everyone is fine here. There are also homeless people here. People who have no money at the end of the month. People who can't pay the rent anymore. All the energy doesn't go into air conditioning either. You would have to fill up the gas tanks completely now and continue to get enough gas in the winter so that people can use their heating. Some politicians are already thinking about forcing the citizens to save gas so that the economy can continue to work. 40.5% have natural gas heating. In winter it is sometimes -10°C here. Without heating, the appartment gets mouldy, you freeze and can die of hypothermia. Yes, many in the world are much worse off. Many are just living from day to day. I just mean that not everyone is doing well here either...

Nuclear power, like France has which provides it with the cheapest energy in Europe, is the answer. Germany stupidly gave it up in it’s rush to renewables and now the highest energy prices in Europe. Ditto for Denmark and California in the US! Nuclear power is emissions free and can provide baseload power. Renewables need back up dispatch able base-load power.

The real question is what have developing nations learned??? I don’t understand how developing nation are not forming pacts with other developing nations, Europe became a power by doing trade with each other and ignoring every other country unless they had something the wanted. There is more people in the “developing world” then their is in Europe. More opportunities for trade and business. Which would make Europe a none factor. This is the reason why European leader work so hard to keep everyone else poor. To give the illusion of their importance.

The biggest problem with this report is blaming European power consumption on air conditioning. The countries which are and will be using the mentioned coal have a negligible usage of air conditioning.
