And China achieve this while using an ambush attack. Imagine a direct confrontation casualties. Whatever it is, China lose big time. Ohh, and the biggest slap to face, 16thousands out of 20thousands PoW from China choose to be released to Taiwan instead back to China.. Very Patriotic Soldier.. We DO support the "One China Policy." There is only one legitimate Chinese government, and its president is Tsai Ing-Wen. The other is a Soviet-instigated rebellion we have tolerated for too long, begun by a spoiled petty bourgeois named Mao Zedong who rose to what passed for power simply by the dumb luck of being the only ranking officer whose sedan chair didn't tip over a cliff due to its carriers starving to death during the Long March.

They can only talk but in the real situation how many soldier they can deploy? 2000 to 4000 at least. It is reality. Japan can't deploy troop. Australia, without usa accept they can't deploy troop either. India, how india go to war at sea? It is impossible. India didn't have sea near taiwan and it spend a lot of time to get there. If india go to war at border without any reason china can condemn at un and un might intervene and call off india. So in the end taiwan is dead meat. South korea don't have much troop to deploy against china at sea too. 2023 china will take over taiwan. Experts said china can take over taiwan just only 3 months. Faster it need only 45days. But western it still day dream bla bla china can't can't. Good luck than... Bye ;) we will see 2023 if expert is right about it. Why is superficial damage to the sonar dome at the front of the submarine a matter of controversy or doubt? The Sea Wolf class subs, of which this is one of only 3, are frighteningly fast (Seattle to naval base in Norway in less than 3 days, was documented a couple years ago accidentally). Additionally it's also a known Russian naval procedure to periodically stop or even reverse one of their subs in order to potentially foil an otherwise undetected sub following. Looks like the US sub was moving too fast and was too close resulting in minor damage. It happens to US attack subs every year or so anyway. It just means that they were doing their job.

@@John77Doe Sure. Of course whomever they struck, certainly wouldn't potentially "hazard their boat" leaving themselves vulnerable to sinking themselves, if they had detected them. So, they were undetected prior to impact. It's reasonable to then assume that any submarine, operating in the SCS or Pacific coast of China may also be being closely followed, again without detection, at all times. That's the entire point of the US attack subs such as this Sea Wolf or Los Angeles. To be ready, at a moment's notice, should orders be given, to blast opposing naval forces into shrapnel and shark food.

@@John77Doe The names are kind of irrelevant, aren't they? Their performance is kind of all that matters. When China figures out how to build a sub the Japanese surface fleet can't force to surface after detection then maybe I'll start to worry. Right now, neither China or Russia can effectively detect even the US Ohio or Los Angeles class subs (cold war era built). The Sea Wolf and soon to be launched Columbia class will already be several generations ahead of even those.

Technically your right. Taiwan was owned by the Imperial Han and they fled there when there was a coup. The Chinese Communist Party gained China and attempted to take Taiwan but failed. If the Democratic Imperial Han already owned the island before the coup and the communists never had it. They can't claim what was never theirs 🙄 Global leaders need to support Taiwan's right of ownership if they wish to prevent a war. The CCP has no claim, they even destroyed Hong Kong.

@Truth Seeker having your name as truth seeker doesn't mean your right. China says Taiwan is there's and I disagree, I side with Taiwan on this issue. In regards to China being strong, China still has its own issues and have gained it's strength by having western nations pumping money into China's cheap labour force and where China steals intellectual property and reverse engineers it. Yes China was regarded as having the best of everything before the CCP but under communism they have been known as the low quality "made in China" statement. China believes it has strength but where is that from? It's all show because they have never won any international wars. Britain for example hand the largest empire ever and they are a small island just like Taiwan 🤣. I love China and the Chinese but the CCP has destroyed China, I feel sorry for it's brainwashed people.

@@ntal5859 Here's the difference, Dubai's islands were built within its on borders, literally within a mile of its coast. If you're referring to the 20 billion dollar airport that Japan built WITHIN one of it's own bays, then whatever point you're making is moot because it's still attached to the city. China has over 3000 acres of artificial islands, hundreds of miles from their own naval borders and basically off the coast of the Philippines and Vietnam, built specifically for military purposes. You're drawing a false equivalency and it's not even a good one.

The british did not build the islands and had presence there well before Argentina had any presence there, not to mention the not insubstantial nonmilitary population that favors British authority of the islands. The Chinese islands did not exist 20 years ago, have almost exclusively military personnel, and have been part of Chinas very publicly stated goals to usurp control of the straight and take Taiwan, while also controlling trade to all its neighbors

The us military has been in Taiwan since Taiwans beginning. In the 1970s the US reduced its presence to it's current level. They didn't redeploy from Afghanistan. My dad and all of his family were stationed in Taiwan in the 1968/1969. We went to TAS..Taipei American school. Dad was in the US Army for 22 years and we stationed all over the world. I was born in France, My sister was born in Japan but I loved Taiwan!! Beautiful and so much adventure as a child, 6th and 7th grade but came home in 1969. I met my best friend at school TAS. We kept in touch until her passing a few years ago. I pray for Taiwan and all of the countries fighting for them.....

The difference is the Afghan people never asked for the US to be there to begin with nor did they ever really support the Afghan Government the US propped up to begin with. As soon as the US left the majority of Afghanistan welcome the Taliban in Kabul with open arms. Taiwan is a much different case, they absolutely do not want to be ruled by CCP and want as much help as possible to deal with China and more than willing to fight them if they have to to keep their way of life.

@@michaelscott5653 I see what you mean, but just like back then, China is the driving force. Americans were sent to S. Viet Nam to train and prepare the army of S. Viet Nam to fight the North. I agree that there is no player to represent the North in this case. However Taiwan could be a perfect battlefield for a non-nuclear confrontation. Just as Viet Nam was, and as many African countries were before that. Proxy war grounds for super powers. Again, I believe that Taiwan is worth helping and fighting for, but as I said, we just have to be careful. China is use to having it's own way now, and I don't see it backing down easily. So I agree it's not "the same" as Viet Nam, but there are similarities.
