i have learned so much from your videos, and you have such a nice calming voiceover voice! love the way you take risks, experiment, and still have fun with your tie dye! i like how you used the rack as part of the scrunch on this shirt, added a neat effect, particularly in contrast with the gravity dye. i will have to try it. have a happy holiday week!

Hi Angie. I love the way this shirt came out. A few years ago, I did a scrunched shirt and was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get some white areas. I finally broke down and purchased a caddy/puller from Boredom with Jenn. Thank you so very much for your advice. I think it will be a good investment. Have a safe and happy July 4th. Hope your dogs doesn’t get scared by firecrackers.

So, what if you were to start an ice dye but when the ice melts add more ice and then microwave it so you would have it quicker? You do Beautiful work! Totally feel you on the heat. Supposed to be in 105s here.

That would probably work. I don't have a microwave that I can dedicate to tie dye so I haven't ever done that process. It's supposed to be a hot one here today too. I'm not complaining though, I would much rather have the heat than the cold. The heat also makes beautiful vibrant tie dye! 😀 Have a great 4th of July!!!

Im curious, do you only wash one shirt at a time in the washing machine or can you do multiple after rinsing?

No, I usually dye in batches and rinse several shirts at a time. When they are all rinsed, I will wash them all together in the washing machine. Using the textile detergent in the wash keeps the dye that gets washed out from redepositing on to the shirts. Occasionally if it is a shirt with a lot of white area, I will wash it alone if the other shirts are really dark.
