I am a few videos behind. Is it necessary to use hot water with the Out White Brite? The threads do not bleach out, are they polyester? Thank you for another amazing video. I will try to get caught up with all your cool projects. I hope Beryl wasn't too mean to you. Stay cool.
@FunEndeavors8 сағат бұрын
Yes, the water has to be boiling hot to work properly. The thread must be polyester because it stayed black on this dress, so the Out White Brite didn't work on it at all. It's pretty hot here today, but they are saying it is supposed to cool off a little bit later this week. I don't mind the heat, but I'm ready for a little break. Thankfully, Beryl wasn't bad to us. We just got a bit of much needed rain. I feel bad for those who received damage though.

Hi Angie! I’m curious what brand of shirts you use or if you have a favorite one? Thanks!
@FunEndeavors2 күн бұрын
This one was a Gildan Ultra Cotton shirt. I use a lot of Gildan and Port and Company brand shirts. For designs that have pleats or definite folds, I prefer to use something that isn't super soft. I get more crisp folds. For more free form designs, ring spun or really soft shirts work great. It's just a personal preference though.

are those colors from the same tub of dye ? or did you use multiple different colors and I missed that? Anyway, I love your videos.. your voice is very soothing!

I saved this awhile back and forgot I had it... dyed a few shirts like I remembered, but went way overboard on the dyes, letting them flow down the shirt before I applied the ice. Now I see that you limited the dyes to just the top where you tied with sinew, so I'll give that a try - sure that was how I did my first attempt! Thanks for doing this video!

Have you considered letting the rain soak the shirt? It's a slow soak like the ice but maybe warmer, might work out fine! I LOVE the way this looks and agree slightly lower might have worked better but I really like it! The lighter in the middle and darker colors - it's really cool! Did you have to add any additional soda ash with that much ice? BTW check out some of the folds Psychedelic Serenity Tie Dye is doing on KZfaq, he's doing some interesting roll-ups and things with pleats that are interesting IMO. Going to have to try some of his designs and this design too - thanks!
@FunEndeavors3 күн бұрын
I haven't done a rain soak with this design. I have with others though. I did add more soda ash before adding on the ice. I have seen people doing the roll-up folds on facebook, and they look really cool, but I haven't tried them yet. 😀

I'm trying to find those new adjustable size colanders you've been using. I think you said it was a TikTok shop but I don't use TikTok at all so I am in the dark!
@FunEndeavors3 күн бұрын
The metal one that I use I purchased from Amazon. It is a little deeper than the 2 gray ones I got from the TikTok shop, and it's better for larger projects. Here is a link to that one: amzn.to/4cYtreD The green expandable one and then I've been using an expandable and collapsible one recently, I purchased them from TJ Maxx. TJ Maxx usually has at least 1 option available each time I go there.

@@denisef1684 Me too! The TikTok ones are great for smaller shirts and items, but the Amazon and TJ Maxx ones work best for larger items and larger shirts.

I like the crisp lines that the hemostats make in the pattern. I have to ask, since you use so many different colors how many dyes to you have on hand at any given time?
@FunEndeavors3 күн бұрын
Thank you! Oh my, I have no idea, I've never counted them. I have a bunch though. Since I do have so many dyes, I normally don't buy them in huge quantities. Most of mine are 2 ounce containers.
