Fun fact!! In the commentaries, Alex Hirsch (creator of the show) mentioned that whilst the GF team wrote this episode and doing the storyboarding process Five Night at Freddie’s didn’t exist. They loved the idea of haunted animatronics and an evil Chucky Cheese restaurant . Once the episode came out everyone thought it was a homage to FNAF because at the time FNAF was a huge cultural phenomenon. The script was in the works 1 year before FNAF came out.

'you can't undo who you are' is the single most savage line in the entire show :-D

I respect Stan for being brutally honest at the beginning. Wendy gasses Soos up a bit by pointing out genuinely good things about him, but Stan shoots a hole in it asking if SHE would date him. Brutal, yes. But honest, also yes. Soos had to step out of his comfort zone to go looking, but also got to compromise being himself when he met Melody. Best of both worlds.

Originally, Giffany was going to end up with Rumble McSkirmish, the video game character from Fight Fighters, but, this idea was scrapped in favor of the montage of Stan hitting up Vegas. While the crew did their best to establish Giffany as beyond redemption, so that her death would feel justified, they underestimated how much fans would fall in love with her. To rectify this, Alex incorporated his original idea into the published version of Journal #3 - a.k.a. The Journal of Retcon.

Love how Stan and Goldie are drinking "rich people water" instead of champagne! Oh man, the fact that this episode predated Five Nights at Freddy's and Doki Doki Literature Club makes a lot of these moments even more incredible! And it's a solid Soos episode!

fun fact that kinda fits into this episode: As you probably know a lot of the characters in the show are based on real people in Alex’s life (him being Dipper and his sister Ariel being Mabel etc). Stan was based on Alex’s grandfather and there is something fun about that that kinda fits into Stan going to Vegas. When he died, Alex’s grandfather said “to scatter his ashes on the dressing rooms of Vegas, so he could see the naked woman forever”. And I feel like thats just such a Stan thing.

Honestly I love this episode but I just wish the B-plot is the ununsed plot of Stan and Wendy bonding. Little fun fact: Alex Hirsch (creator of gravity falls) state there is unused plot where it focus on Wendy. Wendy was grounded because she always making trouble and hanging out with hoodlums by her dad. She tick off and shoplift in shack. Stan caught her on surveillance and Wendy apologies but Stan say "Wendy u are an amazing thief , u are gifted". Then there is montage Stan training Wendy to become a thief. After the training Wendy become ambitious and want to steal a diamond in the Gravity Falls Museum, then Stan agree with it. Wendy get through all the security laser and etc but get caught. The cops want to call Wendy's dad but Wendy was like "please not my dad". Then Stan just tell the cops that Wendy got nothing to do with this and he is the mastermind (even tho it is Wendy's idea). Wendy ask why he would do that and Stan something like "You're still young, you got a lot of time and chances to change. Let the old guy like me take the blame and don't become an old idiot like me. Use ur talent in different things".

2014 was the year the world looked back at animatronics and decided "Wow these things were monsters why did we ever think these could be appropriate for kids?"

I love the little things in this show. Melody literally works at a place called "Meat Cute" when she meets Soos, that is so cute.

Giffany is one of my favorite Gravity Falls villains. Here’s a true fact: In the Journal 3 book, she actually survived because she got transported into the Fight Fighters game.

This is such an awesome episode and I love how this is the first episode to be dedicated to Soos includingthe character development he gains when he tries to find a date for his cousin's engagement party. I also love how this episode predates and predicted Five Night's At Freddy's and Doki Doki Literature Club due to the animatronics coming to life and GIFfany being a muderous dating Sim willing to kill anyone just to have her boyfriend to herself, funny enough this episode came out the same year FNAF came out. Lastly, I actually was expecting GIFfany to be the character icon thumbnail for this episode Instead of Melody.

Both the Emu and the Kangaroo are on the Australian coat of arms because they cannot walk backwards. Also somewhat iconic, but thats why the Emu was chosen to go with the Roo. Progress, moving forward etc.

I've loved the whole series, but season 2 just amps it up with the quotes and things I can't believe they put in this show. "Oh, no! Undo! *Undo!* " "You can't undo who. you. are."
