Really beautiful hair. Looks amazing on her. I’m two years into my grow out. Love my grey hair colour. Wish I had stopped colouring earlier, I’m 57. My hair is healthier, and I now buy good quality professional shampoo. It’s a fraction of the cost of what I used to spend at the salon, every few weeks.

for me, and it has been almost 3 mos, the easiest and fastest way is to cut your hair shoulder length or shorter and then every time it grows a couple of inches, cut it again. that is one of the fastest ways, especially if your hair is dark like mine and you don't want to deal with the demarcation line forever.

I've been thinking about doing this myself. I currently enjoy my longer hair but have never been anxious about cutting my hair either. So, I think I'm going to do the same

Thanks for sharing. I have similar coloring and have long hair I've been growing out naturally. I did have some demarcation but it is blending more now as I trim it and grow out. Your hair looks great.

you look beautiful in your silver hair. I'm 61 and I ditched the dye 3 years ago and absolutely love my white hair. best thing I've done. the freedom and confidence is amazing.

You look amazing!! I stopped colouring my hair in July 2022 and I have about 2 inches of growth now and feel so free!! Its tough some days but I watch other women like yourself and feel inspired to keep going. Thank you for posting your journey, I’m sure you are an inspiration to many women. By the way- my parents are the only ones having a hard time with it, everyone else including my grown children, husband, friends and strangers love it.

She is gorgeous in her silver crown. The first three months were my favourite as they made me tougher inside out. Now I don't give a thought to what others think of me. Best of luck! You can do this! 😊

Aw i feel for your parents. Their brain probably recognizes times are changing and change is super hard especially for parents!! Seeing my sons become man was incredibly hard still is!

I loved that, thank you. My hair is sort of similar so it's good to see your results. My mum is the only one against what I'm doing, she said it looks like I can't afford to go to the hairdressers. Weirdly all I see now is people that colour their hair & I also note the silver sisters and smile to myself 🩶🤍🩶

I love your silver hair, too! I'm only at two inches of outgrowth from long dyed dark brown hair....once before I let it grow out by four inches but chickened out and dyed my hair again. Cross your fingers I make it this time and thank you for sharing your story with all of us.

Firstly msy I say your hair looks beautiful. After I lost some of my hair whilst going through chemotherapy I decided to let the new growth be natural as it grew through white. I'm using hairbands to try to help the regrowth line. It's been 7 months now and I love it. I somehow feel free and also wear less makeup as before my dark hair made me look washed out. Good move...❤

So happy to come across this, I’m transitioning now and had some low lights or baby lights put in yesterday and we will go from there until 1 day I’m all gray and can go long again, I struggled with the decision but come to terms at 53 I’m just tired of spending the money and time doing it every single 2 weeks or less…..so, my journey starts ….BTW your transitioned hair is BEAUTIFUL 😊

I wouldn't care what color my hair was if I were as beautiful are you are! You rock it, but look great with all of your hair variations. I have very fine, limp hair and have always wanted thick, coarse hair. I recently found a hairdresser who is starting with the lowlights and working from there. I figure if I let it show slowly, I'll get used to it. I hope some day to be as happy with the natural color/s as you are. The more that go grey, the more people with get used to it and it won't be such a big deal. My mom passed a few years ago, but that definitely would've bothered her too. She told me when I turned 50 not to tell anyone or they would know how old she was! 😅

You have inspired me because I have dark hair . I am 67 and a hairstylist, retired now and wish I would have done it during lockdown but was having surgery and needed to make myself feel better when I did my hair. I wear hats so it might be easier for me…😊

You are 💯% correct!! One must be ready for it or it won't make them happy. I did it due to the ridiculous shut-down; the only good thing about it. I love how my hair looks now at 63. And the $$$ one saves!

I received several cool comments from young boys and girls during my grow-out period😁. Two of my friends embraced their silvers after my transition. It's really nice to know that we are breaking the rigid norms of society.

It's been almost 3 years without coloring vive la liberte I am very happy with this decision but always the same my family didn't accept very easily but now I thing they change their mind you look merveilleuse thank you your charing your story with us

I luv what the grey does for u . I think there is not 1 women who looks worse after transition. My complaint is that im 65 an have maybe only 20 percent grey or silver but its short so maybe as it gets long it will look different idk but am trying again with i few nice highlites in front as dark brown does not work anymore, it looks fake now that my skin has faded some. 😅yes, wheres my grey! I feel like a baby. I want to catch up.😊

Wow nice..! I'm 29 but almost 70% of hairs turned to white after started using hair dye. Recently white beards started!

Hair dyes too increase grey hair. Also, it can be genetics.

Purple shampoo can be used on brassy hair tones while the dye fades and also if your silver hair turns yellow due to various reasons. If your hair falls in any of the category stated above, it's time for you to start a purple shampoo wash weekly.
