What is Lipka?
Lipka is a homemade clay for modeling. The recipe and the name of this material were developed by the author of the "Cheerful Craft" channel.

Why Lipka is better than Paper Clay?
As you know, paper clay is a very popular material for modeling. But paper clay has its drawbacks. For example, some time after drying, a paper clay product may emit a bitter odor. Also, paper clay has a short shelf life and is sometimes covered with mold.
Lipka has no unpleasant odor. Lipka has a much longer shelf life than paper clay. In addition, Lipka is not covered with mold and can withstand short-term ingress of water. Lipka products can be installed in the yard or in the garden.

What are the disadvantages of Lipka?
After drying, microscopic cracks may appear on a very thin layer of Lipka. But the same cracks appear on paper clay. To make the crack disappear, just smear it with fresh Lipka. And so that cracks do not appear at all, make a thicker layer of Lipka.

Ingredients of Gray Lipka:
- Napkins (20g)
- PVA glue (500g)
- Wheat flour (400g)
- Cement M-400 (480g)
- Vinegar (6-8 tablespoons)
Depending on the required density of Lipka, the number of ingredients may vary. For example, to make a thicker Lipka, reduce the amount of vinegar. Conversely, to make Lipka softer, add more vinegar.

so I can make something out of this stuff for the garden and it won't get soft with the rain like paper clay?

This video shows how Lipka can withstand water. Rain is not terrible for this homemade clay. But it is impossible to put a product from Lipka under water for a long time.

I made it this Friday and after two hours or so it all got super hard in the bag I placed it in while it was in the fridge.

Hi. If Lipka has become solid, add a little water before use. If after cooking Lipka has become so hard that it cannot be softened with water, then you have confused something with the ingredients. Or maybe your package was not airtight. My Lipka has never hardened and always remains elastic.

@@CheerfulCraft I added water and it doesn't make clay soft. Maybe the cement I bought in the USA is a different variation from your country's cement. I couldn't find m400, only Portland, but looks and acts the same. Either way This recipe doesn't work for me.

I put plaster for the walls instead of cement. and it works perfectly. I tried some of them, but not in this combination. I wish I had known these recipes years ago. I would no longer be dependent on working in a traditional ceramic workshop for others. thank you very much and to everyone who opened my "eyes" with these "really cheap" recipes.

I finally got around to making Lipka. I found it quite difficult to mix but stay with it until it comes together because it's worth it. After trying a lot of different recipes this one seems to be the nearest texture to clay I can get. Once mixed I wrapped it and placed it in the fridge but found it got quite hard so decided to leave it out of the fridge but well covered with plastic wrap. The clay is a lovely texture, not sticky and does not leave a trace on your hands. Thank you to "Cheerful Craft" for sharing this great recipe.

Hello. Yes, Lipka can be stored at room temperature, but not as long as in the refrigerator. My advice, if the glue is hard on the second day after kneading. This is actually happening. It all depends on the ingredients. In order to correct the situation, the next day I break or cut the stick with a knife into small pieces, put it in a bowl, spray it with water from a spray bottle, cover it with a bag or film and leave it for an hour. Then, if necessary, I sprinkle water from the sprayer again, mix thoroughly, put it in a bag and put it in the refrigerator. Usually, after such mixing, Lipka never solidifies in the bag again.

Thank you.. I've seen so many different home made clays and this is the first one that looks robust enough for what I need. I use papercrete to make structures but decorating and embellishing with this will be exactly what I need!
