I'm right there with you in regards to being obsessed about space. My real obsession is exoplanets and exomoons. Exomoons is my true obsession. There's not enough Infosys put on what exomoons do. Look at our planet. Where would we be without our moon. So that right there shows the need of moons. And then there's a whole another story when it comes to moons around our gas giants.

If I listen when I go to bed. I always stay up listening to the whole show. And then start looking up collaborative information and get sucked into that. Which ends up with me not getting enough sleep 😴. So I try to listen when I can give it my full attention. He has his whole section for listening when you want to go to sleep.

Audio (particularly from the guest's side) could use some improvement: maybe one of the audio editing freeware suites could have rectified much of this.

I think a Carrington event style disaster may be one of the primary threats to civilisation and is kinda being ignored (politically anyway). I'm glad that scientists like this exist.

They have tested certain ceramics that can withstand over 4000 degrees celsius which is practically enough to shield from heat on the coldest spots of the photosphere. Wouldnt it be possible to build a spacecraft that actually touches the surface of the sun ?

The surface of the sun is the coolest part. The highest temperature is the corona. So, I don’t think we could ever get to the surface in one piece.

Sun doesn't have surface. The gradient gets denser and hotter, so at some point the probe would start losing velocity via aerodynamic drag, just like dipping into atmosphere on earth. It would be counterproductive during this mission.

39:47 that's easy, gravitational pressure, and magnetics both inhibit the temperature inside the sun, and as those lessen, the temperature goes up.

The Parker Probe is my favorite experiment. I was listening and focusing on your conversation gleaning a ton of awesome information all happy until you had to turn on the noise. Once you turned all the racket up I couldn’t focus and had to just give up. I am high functioning Asperger’s. Sorry but way to ruin your program for me. I’ve asked dozens of times to leave the noise off and instead you turn it up when things get interesting. Dude!!!
