I am so glad you showed that Logitech T650 TouchPad. I really like to use a touchpad for long scrolling and when I added an external keyboard to my setup I lost the ability to comfortably use the onboard pad with my Chromebook Pro. After your endorsement that the T650 works with Chrome I found a pre-owned one in perfect condition for $30. It's perfect. Why they stopped making these I cannot understand. Everyone should be able to experience scrolling with a touchpad. Even the best mouse wheel is a stuttering mess unless you have a 10-inch long finger. Keep the great reviews coming team.

Tremendiously informative videos, thanks so much, thanks to you i sold my new samsung chromebook plus and got the acer 15in chromebook touch with backlit keybord, the samsung screen and keybord just to small....very happy with the acer...thanks again for your help...forgot the acer speakers are a good deal louder then the samsung...also good base and treble...

Thanks for sharing all the Chromebook Compatible Accessories! I love my Asus C302C Flip! Can you tell me if Google disabled the “ allow unknown sources”. It is now greyed out and won't let me sideload any outside apps, including Aptoid. I am on the developer channel and have enabled developer mode but “ allow unknown sources” is still greyed out and won't let me enable it. I have a few sideloaded apps when I first got it but can't load any more with that disabled. Keep up the good work!

Great accessory round-up. Any USB type C external Blu-Ray players that work? I've noticed that VLC on Chrome OS is very picky and DVD/Blu-Ray playback in general can be complicated unless there's a method I haven't tried. I have Linux setup with Crouton and VLC works much smoother on there but I'm looking for a way to do that natively in Chrome OS.

I built myself a CloudReady(free open source ChromeOS) desktop PC for work from old AMD hardware I had laying around the house with a DVD-RW burner, and the drive is useless under Chromium OS, so I'm about to dual boot Mint 18.3 XFCE on it. so yeah there is no great way on Chrome OS sadly.

Thank you for this video. I was on the fence about getting a Chromebook. The Pixel is out of my price range but I have been doing some in depth research, because I have been a lifelong Windows user, except for my iPhone. This was extremely informative because one of my concerns was the lack of ports on the Chromebooks and limited hard drive space. You made it easy to understand so that this upcoming transition won't be as intimidating. I guess I'll be ordering myself a Chromebook. Thanks again for the video.

You'll get used to putting everything into the Google cloud. It took me a while to get used to this way of doing things, but now I don't even care that the Chromebook has "limited hard drive space". It simply doesn't matter.

I do recommend d folks with brushed alluminum laptops not to place a, hub, docking station, etc made of similar material, loose in the same compartment of your bag as your laptop, as they will scratch one another's surface if you do so.

My work HP Laptop USB C dock works with the HP x360 I just received refurbished for $280. The dock has 2 x DP, USB, headphone jack, USB ports plus a C port, Ethernet, charges it great. Looks brand new. So when I'm done working and don't want to use my desktop, I can just plug in the single USB C cable to get dual external monitors, and use my Logitech USB G15 and MX Performance mouse. Works well.

We've tried several Plugable docks prior to the USB C version. We have had lots of issues with them. Most notably display issues due to the requirement of the DisplayLink drivers needing to be installed, and then other OS issues relating to those DisplayLink drivers that we had to install, such as the dock not working after a Windows update. Is that an issue with Chromebooks like it is in Windows 10? The adapters you've shown were really hit or miss too on Windows 10. It's a "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't" device. Does this company's hardware actually work reliably with Chrome OS and will it continue to work for several years through updates? As far as I'm concerned any "Plugable" device has a 40% chance of actually working reliably, just based on our results using it with Windows. It's hard to buy another product from them.

Was wondering if you have had much luck with Bluetooth game controllers and playing games or emulators from the Android Google Play Store. I have the SN30 Pro, and was thinking of picking up a Chromebook Plus. I had read some stuff online about difficulty or improper button mapping with 8bitdo controllers while pairing with Google Play game apps on a Chromebook in the past (controllers work fine with Android phones and tablets), but that was a while back, and I was hoping things got better.

Timothy Vreeland I use a PS4 controller connected via USB to play PSX games on my Chromebook with an emulator. You can map the buttons in the emulator to ensure that everything is working correctly. The only issue I have encountered is that the analogue joy sticks do not work on every game.

It's been hit or miss. Logitech makes a $15 USB controller that has worked more times than not for me. Bluetooth controllers are all over the place and can be great or terrible, but the Moga Pro had been better than most.

I believe bluetooth headpones/earphones does not work with chromebooks. I have a 2017 Asus C302CA and it does not pair but it can pair to a speaker though. I googled it and it does say it so as well. Fyi.

I'd add in the Caldigit USB-C dock for consideration. I have one and it's worked really well with my Pixelbook. Only missing a SD card slot, but it charges the Pixelbook at full speed and works well with external monitors. Usually goes for $150 new, but found a refurb model for $100 which is a great deal. The rest of the list is helpful for reference. I definitely am interested in the USB-C monitor!

Lucas Bueno Xiaomi makes an affordable USB C dock. Never tried it with a Chromebook though.

Agreed, my last Chromebook was $90 for a used Lenovo Thinkpad X131e I upgraded to 8GB of DDR3L RAM, and a 500GB HDD, does everything I need. no dock needed for my setup as my Chrome book has 2 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, HDMI, VGA, SD card slot, Gigabit Lan, and I just picked up another one for $60 with an AMD APU inside, and installed CloudReady with 320GB HDD, and 4GB of DDR3L RAM(will max it to 8GB when RAM prices drop).

You must have a very very cheap Chromebook. These docks did used to be stupid prices but it's possible to get a reasonable dock for £30-40 now.

I have a desktop with windows 10 and Google chrome. I want to keep my new Chromebook totally separate from the existing computer. So, will I need to pay for two Google accounts. Also to insure separation for now I assume I should not sync my new chromebook. Also I want to be in control of which updates I download.

Is there a dongle you can buy to connect Bluetooth headsets with a microphone in a Chromebook? Right now Chromebook Bluetooth is audio-only, so you can't use the mic on your headset :(

Hello there! I have a HP Chromebook and my BIGGEST COMPLAINT about it is that it doesn't have enough connector ports for me! That's why I really MISS my ol' HP Windows 10. If you buy a Chromebook, you'll DEFINITELY NEED some sort of ADAPTERS to get more VERSATILITY out of it. As for me, I'm gonna buy myself a new HP Windows 10 laptop to be my PRIMARY laptop while my Chromebook will be my SECONDARY laptop.
