Great Gulf Adventures - Solo Ski Mountaineering on Rare Mount Washington Lines

3 ай бұрынI had 5 lines left in the Great Gulf for the Presidential Ski Project, Carousel Gully, Stinkbug, Turkey Feather, Junebug and Mother In Law. The idea was to do them in a single tour. With spicy traverses, ice climbing, rappels, and all sorts of steep skiing involved, this proved to be one of my most epic ski tours ever. And with each line having its own unique flare, I felt my stoke for the experience grow with every turn. Watch it all unfold.

What incredible snow and weather conditions you were blessed with! As a retired NE climber and skier, I can almost promise you that you'll be savoring the golden memories of this day for the rest of your life, and doing so even more fondly with every passing decade, for the stoke never dies! 😛🤩 Nicely done, man! 💪⛏

Awesome skiing! The rappel over the bulge was the most impressive. You have some real mountaineering skills.

Thank you! That’s kinda the idea with this whole project, to show that with a little rope work and mountaineering knowledge, the whole range is skiable. Used similar tactics with Shoestring and Damnation

Dude we’ve got an awesome ski mountaineering scene and a similar snowpack to the Sierra. Obviously not nearly as much terrain, but I’ve been cracking away at the guidebook intentionally and still haven’t got em all so there’s plenty !

Nice! The Gulf is in! lol You think you'll be able to get those last 4 this season?

Thank you! I think I’ve got all I can get for the season. I have 4 lines left on the North side of the range, 7 total. Currently all of them are melted out except for Stovepipe, which I’m saving. Middle Sister might still be skiable but I know I can get that line in better conditione

@@GetUpTheMountains Hell yeah. And most of the big cruxes are complete (thank you winter 2023). So I’ve got time!
