Those are awesome! I recently got a 3d printer and it’s a total game changer for custom jigs. It’s cool to see someone invent something and produce it themselves without million dollar manufacturing equipment.

If you want consistent distancing for the clamps, you could add two identical tape measures to the work bench top or recessed in to run along the T track. Quick easy refference if you can keep the glue off of it.

And for those of us who use dovetail clamping systems, forgo the t-tracks and just route your dovetails into the top of your glue-up station. I made molds to pour my own epoxy resin dovetail slides that accept the same 10-32 threads as the micro jig system. I made knobs and purchased long bolts with the same 10-32 threads so I can pour as many as I like. I can see from this jig that all of the bits can be substituted for 10-32 compatible parts. I might mold my own parts and pour this jig and see how it works. I’ll keep ya posted on the outcome. Great idea for glue-ups!

Thank you so much for explaining it so well. I’ve built things with my dad over the years and learned a lot. But my Dad is 71 and does stuff old school with tools he’s had forever. Which is great. But idk about these new tools and gadgets. So how you explained things so well really helped. Those are really cool inventions! Good for him for having such a great idea, developing them, and getting them out there! Ty for sharing!

Let's not forget you can use the t-track for other accessories as well. I know that fishing kayaks have a similar setup so they can put something like a camera mount on, bottle holder, fishing rod holder, etc. which can help you for future projects.

@f.kieranfinney4574 ай бұрын
Clamp together 2 2x4s face down. Drill holes the size of your clamps where the boards meet and spaced at some interval, say 12”. Turn those boards on their sides and run packing tape along the top and space those two boards far enough apart to accommodate your glue-up. Lay your clamps in the semi-circles and now clamp away. No brittle,weak 3D plastic required.
