I love how chill Brad was when he lost right there. He smiled and everything, didn't seem angry at all.

Reid puts a Kessig Wolf Run into play "... and there's that Moorland Haunt!"

Standard has never been this good since...
@alexanderthegreat34243 жыл бұрын
Indeed. Standard up until Innistrad block is just the zenith of MTG standard-format for me. I see a field balance of aggro, midrange, tempo, control.
@icantthinkofaname23 жыл бұрын
This was the perfect standard format. Every strategy was viable. Every color combo was viable. Powerful things to do everywhere. This is my gold standard.
@Lincolnbiofl2 жыл бұрын
Since you’ve commented this they’ve released such great standard blocks as
@exigy.11 жыл бұрын
or maybe the great moment is that he exclaims MOORLAND HAUNT
@kothhammer47883 жыл бұрын
Ahhh. Innistrad, good times.

A lot of the time it’s like a lot of the commentators don’t have knowledge of the game itself.. it’s still like this but worse now. I do miss good in person magic though

Watching in 2018, Reid Duke is still playing Jund to this day. Gotta love the guy sticking to his guns
@CCBMmemes6 жыл бұрын
Reid plays Abzan, not Jund.
@MWorl916 жыл бұрын
CCBM Oh, really? Because as recently as this past week he played Jund on the Team Modern Super League
@CCBMmemes6 жыл бұрын
Cameron Worley He's typically known for playing Junk/Abzan though even when the meta doesn't support it. Look at the most recent Modern pro tour for example.
@nwaa52753 жыл бұрын
Bruh don't you mean sticking to his "junds" lmao

It's not till I saw this match with cuts that I realized how important the random +2 health was mid match... crazy
@dadofgio Жыл бұрын
Brad got so intimidated by Reid having a moorland haunt in a Jund deck that he conceded right away.
@Yojonbo11 жыл бұрын
OOOOOOHHHHHHH THERE'S THAT MOORLAND HAUNT
@punksoab11 жыл бұрын
Yea they definitely messed that up. When I heard that I had to recheck what Moorland Haunt does because I just sat there and was like "Uhm... isn't that kind of useless in his deck period just on a mana basis?

Sorry guys can you explain why he wins playing Moorland Haunt? i'm not new to MTG, but i don't get this thing ahahah He needed a land? or the flying token? to do what? the token hasn't haste so it cannot attack, i'm wrong?
@andrespineiroc8 жыл бұрын
+Andrea Mazzucchelli yeahh the card he topdecked is not the Moorland its accutally Kessig Wolf Run :) THAT the detail haha
@Rampage1986711 жыл бұрын

i know i know that moorland haunt sure saved him haha
@brianjroth2711 жыл бұрын
Most likely was a respone to Brad passing the turn. Reid Putrefy'd it in response to his ability to exile him. Only reason why Brad wouldn't cast his 2nd copy of Obzedat.

how is this a great moment? duke peeled the nuts like 8 turns in a row while nelson flooded out? pretty great I guess.
@Meurth7 жыл бұрын
Would be great if the commentators actually explained what the hell was going on, now I have to google every single fucking card before I even have a slight clue.
@Acc_Expired7 жыл бұрын
Its impossible to both read every card (front and back) as well as commentate from a theory point of view. They have some of the cards appear on the side when they can, but there just isnt time to show them all. When pros play magic they can play their entire turn in a handful of seconds
@klob45247 жыл бұрын
Meurth commentators expect those watching to have a general understanding of the cards in standard at the time. this video is several years old.
@Whiskerbro7 жыл бұрын
They didn't make the video especially for you. The commentors cannot explain every single card while offering actually insightful commentary. The games are far too fast for that.
@Meurth7 жыл бұрын
What an arrogant comment, Whiskerbro. By me you mean every single MTG player that doesn't know each card they use by heart, which makes up a huge majority. They could've quickly showed each card when it's played, so that if needed, people can pause the video to read the card or google its title. You understand that not everyone is such a die hard player as you, right?
@klob45247 жыл бұрын
Meurth that wasn't arrogant, it was a simple explanation for why they cant cover every card. Most of the cards they played are pretty well known anyway, and wizards event coverage is designed for people who are semi competetive, or have an understanding of the standard format. This just happens to be an old video.
