Great start to the year!! 7822 Foxcote Manor at LLangollen Railway.1st January 2020

The first day of a new decade, and lovely winter sunshine!
Llangollen railway ran their Mince Pie Special with 3 services, worked by 7822 Foxcote Manor.
Beautiful views along the gorgeous Dee Valley and also a look around the Horse Shoe Falls, with some wild life too!

I drove Foxcote Manor nearly 20 years ago for my 60th birthday present. One of the best gifts I have ever had. I fired up and drove down tender first.

Nice to see her back again, I was there on the 30th December, but unfortunately did not travel behind her. Did the walk along the Canal towpath to Vale Crucis Abbey and back. Lovely area.

Haha, yes I noticed that when I was filming. Funny how the mic picks up some sounds more than others?? :-)

Just can't get enough of the place I always enjoy every minute of my time there when I go, the Grouse Pub at Carrog just across the River Dee Bridge is a great place to eat too, it's not cheap but it's always good, if you love steam trains you'll really enjoy a day out at Llangollen.

It's always been good photographically. Ever been up that small hill just beside Berwyn? You can film the entire run from Llan. to Berwyn and into the tunnel! Anyway, very well done!

Thanks Rick. I'm sure it was an otter. One made 2 quick appearances in front of me in the river, but was too quick for me. Waited over 10 minutes to see him again, then he ( or his friend) appeared in the field. Great to see it!

Not into the tunnel, Crossfell Railway Videos. You have to make sure the carriage windows are shut, before the train enters the tunnel uphill. Failure to do so results in damaged eyesight for the rest of one's life, due to red-hot sparks flying back at you faster than you first think. This is a rule we all have to obey or we don't go back ever again. Great video anyway.

A very special railway. A Manor fits in perfectly. I can just remember the line closing and lying derelict. A great achievement by all involved.

@@kellyashfordtrains2642 So how does Llangollen Railway Boss Kevin supervise this? Does he supervise every single passenger to make sure they comply with his Instructions? Is every passenger monitored by Boss Kevin? And if anyone doesn't comply with Boss Kevin's instructions they're told to go away and not come back? How can Boss Kevin enforce that?

And I think everyone who rides on steam railways has probably had a smut in their eye at some time or other, and hardly anyone has had their eyesight damaged for the rest of their life.
