Thank you for the information! I have a question regrading sleeping inside bivies and sleeping bags: do you have any suggestion on how to get used to sleep in a confined position? I’ve been backpacking for 2 years now and Im always cold because I have to open my sleeping bag to extend my arms, otherwise I get shoulder and back pain. This cause me to have to carry extra jackets only for sleeping. Pretty annoying. Thank you.

uhhhh...the difference in weight between a 180lbs adult with a 10 pound base weight and 6 pound base weight on the trail or "alpine plants" is exactly dick. The only reason to go ultra light is if you can't physically handle heavier weights, or if you CAN go lighter and still accomplish your outdoor intentions. For me Ultralight is fucking stupid, and miserable. and my base Wight is usually around 15-20lbs. that is what i'm hiking the Uinta Highline trail this year with. I could go 7lbs, if I wanted to lay in pain all night long....
