She says she shouldn't take human students, asks Fern to be her student in like five seconds after that. Says mana suppression is useless skill, but trained it herself for like 10 thousand years. I think she is just so old, saw so many people leave her and die, both human and elves. She is just emotionally disconnected and coldly logical, yet in heart she is just an emotional mess from all the losses.

My interpretation is that Serie has been grieving her own way about Flammes passing for 1000 years. Her finally accepting her will to lead humanities mages is one part of her healing process, along with her subsequent apprentices. The way she expresses herself as looking down on humans for their short lifespans and not being able to reach their full potential os half her ego and half sadness probably. All hwr pettiness is cope. That's why people don't automatically "hate" series character, becauses she's complex and flawed. An immature galadriel.

I suspect it isn't a coincidence that she started the association after the demon king was defeated. Maybe it was because she realized flamme was right about frieren so she should do the magic stuff too. Or maybe she was bored because of less demons being around.

The thing is, Frieren doesn't *want* to be a first class mage. She didn't even want to take the test, she tried to leave at the first obstacle to being accepted. Plus being a first class mage means they're going to call on you to do stuff for them and Frieren wants to be free to do the things she wants to do.

As unlikely as it would be to actually happen, a serious Lernen vs Frieren fight would be interesting to see. There's no reason to doubt Serie's claim that Lernen would be capable of winning so it would be far from a fight with a guaranteed outcome.

It’s funny. For being so awkward, when given time, Stark is quite the social butterfly. He got along well with the townspeople, and he even corrected his behavior once he realized that Denken was a nobleman.

Lernen's spell easily break Frieren's defensive magic. So he is either developed magic greater than Zoltrak (or any magic known perhaps cause Frieren's own magic can't easily break her own defensive magic based from clone fight) or somehow his magic have physical properties to break defensive magic.

I think he may have used the original version of Zoltraak instead of the one that Frieren developed. Frieren's version of Zoltraak is used specifically to kill demons and is white-colored, while the original Zoltraak by Qual is made to destroy humans and is black-colored. I may be wrong though, this is just my opinion

@@yorenkai_8chan577 although could be true, the og zoltraak used by qual after he got unpetrified was not able to destroy the barrier that easily, i feel like the dude spent his whole life to developing a type of super damage spell that passes all defenses since the base magic is already strong enough to kill targets just not defenses, so it could be a def pearicing zoltraak

@@L0LIPropHis attack spell definitely has other properties too, perhaps to do with darkness, as the lights went out when he began casting it. Or anti-magic qualities as I think the lights are magic powered, which would explain how they go through magical defenses so easily.

Thank you very much for these month of reactions. I don't watch much anime anymore (because lack of time + love to read) but when Frieren and then Apothecary diaries got an adaptation I was for sure gonna watch it. But what was even more pleasant and that I didn't anticipated was the pleasure to watch people new to the story discover it and follow the adventure with shinny eyes. From all the commentators you are my favorite by far, your humour and cunning eyes for story developpements as well as your emotional investement with the characters are the best. I may not be subsribed because I won't watch much more reactions and it will be too much videos for my subscription section, but I will for sure come back every time a show interest me because I know I will enjoy living the experience with your videos and the community you built.

This anime was totally something else!! It has touched my heart to such an extent I can't even explain, such a beautiful Season it has been!! feels very surreal that it has ended, really really looking forward to S2!!

Serie doesn't really hate Frieren, she's just disappointed with her choices because she literally could be way more powerful than she is. It's like looking at someone so talented and a genius but not making use of their full potential when they could've done so much. Serie not letting her pass, banning her is just her childish banter with Frieren it's not even really anything. Serie is a grandma disappointed her granddaughter didn't follow in the family footsteps but secretly checks up on the granddaughter, always updated with her life and makes sure she is doing fine in life

I cannot wait for season 2. If this show miraculously got a long run (100 ep +), i would be ecstatic. I was honestly expecting to start a new river this episode but I was happy with how it went, so much better than just pure action.

The reason for her failing Frieren is because she still sees something bigger in Frieren. Its not because she doesnt like Frieren, she just thinks Frieren can get a lot better.

It's crazy, Mob Psycho 100 and Frieren are the only animes I'd give a 10 and Frieren feels like it's just getting started. Please, please, please let Madhouse handle season 2, don't let this anime get tainted in the future. 🙏
