Rafi Saab must have read the lyric several times before recording, otherwise his utterance of every word would not become so special. He gave emphasis to every word with the situation in mind while singing along with the style of the hero. This is perhaps the secret of the immortality of his songs. I daren't say anything about the singing potential of this iconic singer. The quality of the lyric and the tune is another factor of the timeless nature of a song. Well said. Indeed he was an unique and a rare iconic singer, who dips deep into the character and situation and very suitably sings the song befittingly. Also he was genuinely an angel in human form. G. K. ji, R. D became popular after " Teesri Manzil " in which Rafi sahab had contributed immensely. In spite of this, R. D, for reasons best known to him, didn't use Rafi sahab's voice much. Kalyanji Anandji preferred Mukesh ji to Rafi sahab. However, unlike R. D, Kalyanji Anandji used Rafi sahab's voice in many films. At the fag end of Rafi sahab's career, KA compositions like " Badi door se aaye hain', " Sukh ke sab saathi " , "ye raat hai pyasi pyasi', Wada karle sajna " and " Kya dekh te ho, surat tumhari " were super hits. Kalyanji in an interview to Vividh Bharti, had said that Rafi sahab was like an all rounder in cricket, and he could sing any song, however difficult it may be. KA were constrained to use Mukesh ji's voice when they composed for Manoj ji and RK's films. Incidentally it was RD's composition "Kya hua tera wada" for which Rafi sahab got Filmfare as well as National award, and regained his no. 1 position. Needless to say, Rafi sahab was a genius singer beyond compare, and humility personified. That is why genuine music lovers through out the world call him Farishta.

RD&KA were makaar & Gaddar... RD became hit after Teesari Manzil &Waris but he ignore Rafi Sahab in70's... KA were the B grade music director... In their first film Rafi Sahab sang hit songs... He also gave sweet & hit songs in Ishaara.. Jab jab phool khile... Raja Saab... Bulff Master... Preet na jaane Reet etc but they ignored Rafi Sahab in early 70's....and became B to C grade music director... But Rafi Sahab was Mohd. Rafi... After returning from HAZ he became no. 1 singer again & gave sweet & hit songs... RD& KA again came to Rafi Sahab.... They under stood that they are zero with out Rafi Sahab... Shame to RD & KA... Rafi sahab is 'THE Sun's only one in the world

@@bksaini9557 you are right to some extent. RD sidelined Rafi saheb because of his close association with kishore kumar to whom he was partial and favouring a lot! Another reason might be due to pressure from producers and nakhrebaaz heros like Rajesh khanna. Kalyanji and Anandji dropped Rafi saheb in favour of kishorkumar because they were quick to feel the pulse of audience early who wanted noise and crazy lyrics in the name of music ! Rafi saheb accepted everything - good or bad - which people did to him with utmost humility ! Such a virtue one never expected from any other singer who were more of a business mind and greed!

@@bksaini9557 ji, I quite agree with you. Apart from the songs mentioned by you, let me add the following outstanding songs sung by Rafi sahab for KA :- 1. Saaze dil ched de- film "Paasport ". 2. Bekhudi me sanam - film " Hasina maan jaayegi ". 3. Hamne dekha hai tumhe film " Jee chahta hai ". 4. Akele hain chale aao - film " Raaz". 5. Kuch log yahan per aise hain - film " Vardaan" It is an indisputable fact that the composers who ignored Rafi sahab during the early 70's , had to get back to him to sing their difficult and melodious compositions. Rafi sahab never carried any grudge, and readily obliged to sing even if it was a two line song. For example in " Mukaddar ka Sikandar" Rafi sahab sang just two lines " Zindagi toh bewafa hai, ek din thukrayegi " for Vinod Khanna ji, in the climax scene. I have to say this:- अल्फाज़ कम था, लेकिन रफी साहब के अंदाज़ में दम था. Even during the brief lean phase, Rafi sahab had come up with some wonderful, melodious numbers like:- 1. Door rah kar na karo baat karib aa jao - in the film " Amanat" for composer Ravi ji. 2. Apni aankhon me basa kar - film "Thokar" for composers Shyamji Ghantshyamji . 3. Ek nanhi si kali, roye daali ke liye - film " Anchal ke phool" 4. Mann ke khazane mein maya hi maya film "Malik tere bande hum" -for Sonik ohmi ji. 5. Teri galiyon mein na. - film "Hawas " for Usha Khanna ji. 6. Tum jo mil gaye ho - film "Haste Zakhm" for Madan Mohan ji. and many others. Many yesteryear heroes have gone on record saying that Rafi sahab was instrumental in shaping their career. Rafi sahab had done absolute justice to the songs of even less popular composers. For example, " Mei toh tere haseen khayalon mei kho gaya. " for Lala Asar Sattar ji in the film " Sangram". " Mana mere haseen sanam tu rashq- e mahtab hai for G. S. Kohli ji in the film " The Adventures Of Robin Hood ". Sab jawab sab haseen, koi tumsa nahi, for Lachi Ram ji in the film " Mei suhagan hun" Subah na aaye, shaam na aaye for Iqbal Qureshi sahab in the film " Cha Cha Cha" You are absolutely right, the composers who ignored Rafi sahab could never become top notch composers. The devine singer will continue to live in the hearts of genuine music lovers till eternity. Jay Hind. Jay Bharat.

I understand from some old literature that when this song was recorded actual shooting was not done till then and Rafi sahab was just told the background of the song and just told that this song is in very early morning when Firoz Khan just gets up. Chitragupta ji had just told him the tune and basic notations and the complete effect to the song was given by Rafi sahab. This was the best song among all the songs of this movie. Also excellent acting by all.

We are indeed very unfortunate to loose him so early .No singer will ever come close to him because Rafi saheb had very pure heart and mind ! Sir aapke videos dekh kar I must say 'Àapne yaad dilaya to mujhe yaad aaya ' ki aajse 50 -55 saal pehle main bewajah hi Rafi sahab ki fan nahi thi , female singer ki bajay always tried to sing only his songs and thought I sing like him ( so foolish) and my first school performance was ' koi jab raah na paaye' . Due to his songs I saw dosti (twice in a single day) due to his songs i became fan of Dilip sir ,Rajender kumar , shammi kapoor and others for whom so ever he sang . Your presentation is awesome . Jo hame fir us sunehre musical daur me le jaati hai. Thanks.
