I find these rifles feed better with original round nosed ammo which is what your rear sight on the rifle is for. The Greeks chose not to get the new sights for Spitzer ammo even when DWM asked them when they put in an order for 120,000 which were delivered in 1906 & 1907. 😁 just my tip.
@jabaier24 жыл бұрын
I was round nose. Maybe soft point ammo causes issues that FMJ doesn't cause? I'm guessing he is using PPU 156-gr RNSP, since that is the only commercial 6.5x54 available in the US.

Oh cool, an early Steyr with the correct stock! I'm jealous. I've been keeping an eye out for one with Austro-Hungarian markings. What are your thoughts on the action? Everyone says they are smooth, but half of the ones I've seen seem to have problems with the rounds snagging on the left receiver wall.
@GunsOfTheWorld4 жыл бұрын
Hello, The action is very smooth, maybe not quite as smooth as a krag but definitely very close. The only feeding issues I've been having is the rounds do not go up the feed ramp easily, you have to work the bolt with a little force to get them to go in the chamber. I was using soft point ammo which is probably why I'm having this issue. It would most likely feed better with FMJ rounds but I have been unable to locate some.
@georgkarr9617 Жыл бұрын
@@GunsOfTheWorld This problem with the feeding is because the original cartrigde have a longer round nose bullet .If you use such bullets you dont have a problem with the feeding procedure.
