In this ASMR/bedtime stories video, I tell you two great myths from Ancient Greece:
- The Story of Orpheus, the legendary poet and musician, and how he tried to rescue his wife Eurydice from the realm of Hades and Persephone;
- the Story of Jason and the Argonauts, who embarked on the Argo on an epic quest to retrieve the Golden Fleece.
In these stories we will meet numerous gods and other beings, like Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Athena, Demeter, Persephone, Aphrodite, Chiron the Centaur, Charon the Ferryman, Cerberus, Calliope the Muse, or Medea the Enchantress.

I want to add; it was decades before it dawned on me the meaning of the story is where there is doubt, there is not Love. Love- can't exist where doubt is placed. I get to hear you say my name over and over and over LOL

When I was a little girl a long time ago😉 My dad used to read me Greek mythology at bed times, I loved it and I love history thanks to him. Ur amazing videos take me back to those times feeling safe and loved listening to the myths and fables xx ur voice is so soothing to my soul thank you so so much xx xxx 🥰

Similar for me. My dad had a degree in Military History and so many times after dinner he’d tell me stories about the great Greek and Roman generals and battles. The gods were always a part of the stories, because of the way they used humans for their political purposes. I’m sure my friends thought it was really odd, but I have so many great memories of my dad because of that. ♥️

@@Debbie338 mine too!! To be honest I didn’t care what anyone thought I just loved that time with dad. I’m fortunate to have him still with me, and even now when we are walking around museums listening to him talk is amazing. My daughters have the pleasure of listening to them now 🥰

Yessss I check your channel literally every night before bed - I love it when there's a new video! (Although I have a Playlist of older videos I listen to when there isn't a new one :-) As a side note...I've been learning French for a while now and listening to some of your other videos that you have done in french, like the napoleon story, have been great for me to listen to and being able to understand the bulk of the video makes me feel like I'm really making progress! So your channel is more helpful than you know!

The story of Orpheus and Eurydice is featured (with artistic liberties of course) in Neil Gaiman's "The Sandman" comics and they way he and the artists brought that tale to life was so cool, but so sad, too. Nice to see them mentioned here as well!

This is so crazy! I took a mythology class last trimester and we talked about some of the big heros which included Jason! It was so interesting and this asmr is very good:) we also read many tragic love stores and wrote a essay on it lol

27:30 it amazes me the amount of literary allusions from greek mythology - this particular moment i think inspired a part in the harry potter and the philosophers stone book where they had to get past a huge dog, im not sure if it was that book ir another in the series, but yeah i thought that was very cool, great video thanks so much!

Aphrodite is a lovely and sweet goddess... but only as long as she received proper worship. I can't with this. She is a narcissists and self serving. I'm not saying that what the wives did was right, I'm just saying I understand.
