Ah, the days when the Packers had a defense good enough to shut out non-terrible teams. It's easy to make fun of Sanchez in retrospect, but this Jets squad not only made the playoffs, but also handed Peyton Manning a wild card loss in his last game as a Colt, and then landed a stunning divisional round upset in Foxboro over a top-seeded Patriots team that some analytics considered better than their 16-0 2007 squad. Of course, they would go on to defeat in the AFC CG against Green Bay's eventual Super Bowl foe in Pittsburgh. Also, Nick Folk tried to play the wind at 9:15, but it looks like he just played himself. Congratulations!

A good old fashioned defensive struggle; not enough of those today.. We see why Sanchez was a mediocre QB. He had lots of yards between the 20's, but could not execute in the red zone (plus he was TO prone). The Pack will need that kind of D to raise the Lombardi trophy again.

Don't get upset we only got 9 points. Not only did we shut them out, we also did so against a fantastic defense that the Jets had that year

Their 2009 defense was also pretty good
@silverguard81053 жыл бұрын
@@Wolf_3125 the 2009 defense was completely overrated. Their numbers looked good because they beat up on weak teams like the Lions, Browns and Cardinals who didn't play their starters. Every good quarterback they played against that year tore them apart. Favre twice, Roethlisberger, and Kurt Warner.
@Wolf_31253 жыл бұрын
@@silverguard8105 Fair enough, but you have to start somewhere. I'm just disappointed that their defense fell off a cliff in 2011 and hasn't been the same since.

We may never see games like thks anymore. The NFL has made it impossible to play shut down defense because the majority of viewers don't have the attention span to enjoy defensive battles, and they need to keep that bottom line where they want it.

To think that the Jets, as well as the Giants were this elite back in the early 2010’s. It’s sad seeing that they’ve gone down into Mediocrity

@12:45 In today's NFL, that's roughing the passer. With all of the rules in today's game, it's not a man's game anymore. League officials can try all they want, but players are still going to get injured. Unfortunately, it's always been part of the game. Players are aware of that. It's like a swimmer who gets bit by a shark. Before they go into the water, they know there is a chance they will get attacked. But they do it anyway. People put themselves at risk in many situations in life. That's their own choice. As far as entertainment value, the NFL is garbage.

Jesse Trent This was the first time the Packers had shut out an opponent on the road in like 20-30 years so I would definitely consider it a “greatest game”

Any game where you hand your opponent a goose egg is a great game.
