Willem Dafoe was the perfect choice for the Green Goblin. The characterization he provided was one of the scariest I have seen.

I got emotional when Jameson refused to give the goblin Peter's name even putting himself in grave danger by refusing. Its what really makes me love the character.

The best part of knowing that William Defoe is in No way home, was finding out that he had one major requirement for coming back. And that was being able to do his own stunts. It shows in the movie with every close up they got of him.

He’s definitely my favorite villain in any of the Spider-Man movies. Willem just plays him so good that it’s actually terrifying! He always drops my jaw and scares the shit out of me every time he does that demonic laugh.

Favourite moment was when Green Goblin lightly slapped Spider-Man across the back of his head lol.

I remember how much I loved that razor fight scene. I can’t wait to see him on the big screen again!

First time i saw Green Goblin i was 10 and to see him again after a long time is pure happiness and nostalgia.

Oddly enough this movie was released the same year as lotr the two towers when Andy Serkis got wildly famous for playing smeagol/gollum. Meanwhile Willem is brilliantly playing his own portrayal of smeagol/gollum in spiderman👏 lol. This is legendary

You left out the scene where Green Goblin goes after Aunt May when she's praying. This showed that The Goblin enjoyed being evil. A truly great villian and my favorite out of Spider-Man's rogues gallery of villains, which just about all of them are great.

Crazy how he was the Best villain by default after this movie but lost his #1 position in the very next movie to Ock and never got touched after that… those first 2 Raimi movies really were something special and only Vulture can even remotely compete with Ock and Goblin and I still think he’s a small tier below them

In spite of everything you’ve done for them, eventually they’ll hate you… why bother?” It feels like a double meaning to the Modern times now, He’s not just talking to spidey here, he’s talking to the emergency services ( the good policemen and women specifically when talking about that field of emergency) cause despite everything there’ll also be the criminal that got away that patient who died the one person in a burning building they couldn’t save… it turns them from the greatest hero’s into the worst villains in the eyes of the people that were related to the ones they couldn’t save, sometimes, not all the time.

This was the best Spider-Man movie ever of all times! They had to bring him back in order to do better with the franchise. Not to be mean, but the Garfield era was the worst! Not his fault, producers and director didn't do such a good job.

Norman was right. Look how they turned on Hollande Spider-Man after he literally participated in the battle that brought 50% of the universe back, losing his closest mentor iron man.

Now you see, Norman was terrifying long before Dafoe took the role, but his on-screen portrayal is the best for him so far.

I watched this movie endlessly when I was a kid and i never registered how brutal & white knuckled the final battle really is, to see Peter go through that level of punishment, while knowing & feeling sorry for him that he's always down on his luck while trying to protect the people he cares about made it so difficult to watch. that pumpkin bomb coming out of nowhere nearly blowing Peter to bits was gut wrenching and almost disturbing. the MCU would never put these Heroes through this level punishment.
