How the plans for Green Lantern HBO Series have changed. Previously it followed House of The Dragon Episodes style of Anthology Time Jumps, and now will only be about John Stewart with other Green Lantern characters having cameo scenes and smaller arcs.

After peacemaker and what he’s done in the MCU, I am confident in the future of the DCEU on screen with James Gunn at the wheel. Dude has proved himself time and time again, I can’t wait. DC has some of the best comic tv shows/ animated movies out there, so I’m pumped for the potential! All we need is a few more members cast!!!

They'll announce more formal plans for the future movies and HBO Series later next year. He's still going to finish releasing Guardians of the Galaxy 3 before they announce a ton of his DC stuff.

It's sad because when The Man of Steel came out many of my fri nds would say this is it, 'DC has to play catch-up to a company that doesn't have all the rights to all of their popular characters, but hey better late than never". Now, I'm with you with the same attitude that Warner Brothers must be complete fools when it concerns DC. After the very first Avengers movie, and the whole idea of a shared universe within cinema was born (keep in mind the pop culture idea of meta and a shared universe or multiverse had already been done before but it was looked at in the breaking of the 4th wall standard), I don't see how the executives of DC for WB weren't all fired. WB could have been doing this for years across all platforms, and yet the CW, something they sold, has been their most successful avenue.

I would want the GL series to be an anthology series (like love death robots). Every episode centers on different characters, different stories, and different genres. It gives a good sense of exploration toward the characters. Gives a spotlight to many other lanterns, whilst John and Hal's stories can be played out for the movies. If they're still planning for the series to center to John, it's cool. I'd like to see it. But please don't use other character's stories to uplift John's, like the recent animated movie. Taking stories, especially origin stories and important key stories in other character's arc development for another character is just lazy writing & selfish honestly. I want a fresh, true, and interesting take on John's story. Don't just use Kyle Rayner's "sole green lantern/he was not chosen, just there at the right time and place" arc or instantly make Hal the bad guy so that John would have a big bad early on. I want to see John's guilt and redemption on Xanshi's destruction explored, with his self doubt and ptsd perhaps from his army days or something. This way, not only will the series be true and interesting, it will give more chances for other lanterns to be explored in the future. By taking other character's origins and story arcs, that's like killing off the character without giving them a chance to appear.

Fire idea , only thing is - would each episode start with them getting the ring? Might get receptive if so(?) . At the same time this isn't another spiderman/superman/batman movie so we need to see green lantern origin again !

@@h3llboyyy407 oh yeah no they're not gonna get the ring, they already got it. So it might be like in an episode, Kyle and Kilowog is called for backup in a space station, but then when they came to the space station, everybody was already dead, so the genre would be thriller. But perhaps the episodes should connect to their origin in a way, like kyle who is trying to become a hero while he wasn't chosen to be one, he was just there at the right time, not like any other lanterns, or jess's fear, or john's guilt with xanshi. But the timeline for each episode would be different. So it could take place outside the main dcu timeline, but still in later future take part in the main one if needed. I would say hal or john's origins is better for the movies, and the series would incorporate those origins slowly in episodes where the lanterns star in. So we're like taking the "show not tell" way of story telling and visual language. Would be nice

I just watched the john stewart animated movie last night. I liked John, but i felt they did Hal dirty. So many recent movies do the same thing. They destroy our old hero to prop up the new one. It feels lazy and kind of spiteful. Like they want to force us to like the new character.

A great idea for the WRONG platform. It makes no sense to have a show named after a specific character, then every single episode is about everyone OTHER than them. 👎🏽 No, call the show Legends of DC and then run with it. But your initial concept sucks titled under ONE character. Makes no sense.

I honestly liked the idea I heard awhile back ago that was have Hal Jordan and John Stewart and do a Lethal Weapon type vibe with the two characters. I especially like the part where they fly into a space battle and just sit there talking to one of the ship captains over comms while dozens of ships with crews blew up and then they free the captain’s ship from the star’s gravitational pull and he immediately kamikazes into a ship killing hundreds of people and as they all sit there contemplating just how bad they f@cked up, Hawkgirl just shrugs and says it is a noble death for all, completely overlooking the HUGE roll they played in it.

Seeing as how we just had a bunch of Batman (animated, and live) I think they should put Batman on the back burner and focus on giving other characters their shine. Titans just name dropped John Constantine, they have Jinx so maybe that can set up the hive academy which can set up a brotherhood of evil, which from there can set up so many opportunities. Don’t get me wrong Batman is my favorite character but they are just not doing him justice (no pun intended) I mean we just had a live action Dr. Fate do a dark dcu with the magical characters like just do something besides over flood the market with Batman because you have no Superman just do something!!!!

Ryan’s GL movie is underrated. It walked so other superhero CGI movies (which is most movies) could run. If it weren’t for a couple things like Hollywood’s weird fetish with big ominous clouds & the CGI mask & too blue lenses, it was good

Elseworlds used to be "imaginary stories" back in the 60s. What if..? wasn't published until 1977. So What If...? Is actually Marvel's answer to DC's Elseworlds.

They need to remember Hal Jordan is the first earth lantern. Use that character in the dceu use the others and Jordan in the series. Use the Jordan parallax/emerald dawn as a movie theme making him an antihero, then bring him back like rebirth later in the dceu.

@@demiladeakinyele5663 Hal Jordan was created in 1959. Alan Scott was created in 1940. The Justice Society was created in 1941. The Justice League was created in 1960. If you want to ignore more than 2 Decades of Comic Book History then that is on you, not us. Please note Alan Scott was a Founding Member of The Justice Society, while Hal Jordan was a Founding Member of The Justice League.

@@Wilbur322 Not saying John Stewart can't happen. Just that Hal Jordan has to happen. So much GL mythos is written around him that to not include him would be a sin. Being Abin Sur's successor, Sinestro's student and not to mention his ties to Atrocitus via Abin's murder. You can't wipe away the greatest GL of them all because of one bad movie.

I'd really like them to do a unique spin on Flash. I think the Flash tv show had so much promise and I enjoyed the first few seasons but "Run Berry, Run" can only be said so many times before you realize it was a lack of creativity and not a creative choice itself. Someone who can bring a spectrum of emotions to the role and not just optimism and despair

Based on more and more information coming out years later after BvS and Justice League by Snyder; he wasn’t the problem. He had great ideas and a vision for EVERYTHING. But here we are with the bs decisions he’s forced to do or not do.I would have absolutely loved his version of GL. And had he been able to follow through on his original plan it would have far evened the field of Marvel vs DC.

I read that Zaslav had canceled so many shows including Bad Robot shows and The Green Lantern Corp was on that list. If that was just speculation, I am so glad because I think TGLcorp would make an awesome television show.

They need a Shazam spinoff series, maybe Mary Marvel would be a good choice. Wouldn't mind seeing a Martian Manhunter series too with Harry Lennox. Aside from that a Deathstroke series but only after a Batfleck solo with them both. They could also do a Cyborg series or The Atom following the events of 2021 Justice League

Even I would love to see more of these DC poster Superheroes series (Batman, Superman etc.) I wish most of the series would be more about little less known characters. Peacemaker was good and to be fair I had not heard of whole character before Suicide Squad film.
