GW is a dead company as far as I'm concerned. Everyone in our Original Warhammer and Warhammer 40K groups cancelled our subscriptions and vowed never spend another euro buying GW's garbage. We have a couple of graphic artists in our group so we'd rather design our own armies, then buy a 3-D printer and create our own models. Additionally, our group plans on freezing the Warhammer 40K rule sets from Eighth Edition (2017) and using those as the base for our games in the future, so who needs to buy ANYTHING from a company that does not respect its fan base.

People who dont even like warhammer, are trying to change warhammer. Why do they think they can just piss in our cereal because they dont like the brand we got? Best case scenario, the company goes under and only someone who sees money in restoring the old lore will be willing to buy the IP

Well, New 52 Wonder Woman storyline did note that male babies were born to Amazons, but they were immediately cast away, ending up in places such as Hephaestus' workshop. Though I wouldn't consider that a complete retcon of DC Amazonian lore, more along the lines of providing answers to logical questions such as "Do Amazons give birth to male babies?", and rather than saying "No... because magic", they provide an answer that still fits in with the lore. To me, it's like explaining a plot hole and not destroying the lore in the process. What they are doing with WH40 though... oof.

Years ago in college lived in a Christian community house. The churches that ran it were liberal, the people living in it were conservative. They had rules, no sex, drunkeness etc.. You know what you would expect from a christian community. They kept trying to get the conservatives out and get the liberals in, but the liberals didn't want to live that way, only the conservatives did. My sister-in-law’s brother who is a pretty big Warhammer 40k fan pointed out that Games work shop has two characters who could have actually created female space marines and custodians, these being Cawl and Byle. Now I don’t think their needed when you have the sisters of battle and silence, but as he pointed out games work shop should have had one of or both characters make women marines/custodians instead of just saying “oh they always existed.” Its just insulting to the fans.

The bottom line is nobody cares about women being represented in 40 K. There’s an all female army called “the sisters of battle“, and Females make up a significant portion of most of 40 armies. What people are upset about is the injection of modern politics, into our fantasy games that we specifically play to get away from politics. And the gaslighting from GW about 37 years worth of very specific male only custodians and space, marines lore, that has been reiterated through nine additions, and countless source material is the problem. The fact the games workshop is willing to alienate a very large portion of their fanbase, and lose billions of dollars worth of sales, to push a DEI agenda, shows just how much the influence of, Vanguard and black rock buying up 11.6% of the GW stock really was.

Just like I tell D&D players, just don't update to the new virus. Continue to play the what you have and ignore everything published after today. Nothing requires you to update to the new edition or errata. Stop buying the new minis, that will hurt them more than the lack of book sales. Once the money flow gets low enough they will either reverse direction or die on that hill.

The situation with the japanese companies is absolutely wild. Its pure facism what western countries are doing plain and simple. Japanese companies need to find someone else to translate and import their games. Japan, despite what many think, is a fairly conservative nation. They shouldn't be allowing this.

Something that doesn’t make sense to me is that if they are so focused on earning money why don’t they expand their market? In Mexico there is no official distributor and it has a huge fan base in Mexico, yet for our version comic con there was no stand for Warhammer.

I thought it was pretty much accepted that the companies decisions aren't about market gains/losses but about getting financing from the ESG policies.
