Green Lantern: The Animated Series Promo Clip 1 of 2 - Episode 22, "Love is a Battlefield"

Green Lantern: The Animated Series only has five more episodes unless the forces of stupidity at the Cartoon Network reverse their course. This week's episode "Love is a Battlefield" features the return of both Atrocitus and Carol Ferris and it looks like there will be more fireworks than that time Hal forgot to buy Carol flowers for Valentines Day!

"The evil Aya Monitor invades the planet Zamaron, blaming the Star Sapphires for the pain she feels from her heartbreak. The unsuspecting Carol Ferris is summoned to represent Love in a battle against Hate's champion, Atrocitus of the Red Lantern Corps."

I have no doubt that if this show weren't canceled they would inevitably cover the rise of the Sinestro Corps. In my humble opinion that would have been epic, perhaps maybe a multi-season storyline.

I can see the yellow lanterns giving the red lanterns a power up, similar to with the green and blue lanterns. Because just as hope inspires will, fear can fule hatred.

Explaining that to her wouldn't have protected her, he needed her to believe that he didn't love her so she wouldn't risk getting herself killed for him again. He figures that if he rejected her, she would hate him and be safe. He didn't count on her turning off all her emotions and becoming a super villain. But alas, that's how love works sometimes in DC.

I know that this Atrocitus isn't the same Atrocitus as the comics, but still, there's no reason whatsoever that Atrocitus should've agreed to the fight. The red lantern's mission is vengeance. Atrocitus just wants revenge on the guardians. Plus the red lanterns only fight/kill the guilty and protect the innocent, and since that star sapphire said that Carol is an innocent, Atrocitus should have no reason to agree to the fight since it goes against his mission.

thats sort of the problem with Atrocitus he only works as a villain like the red lantern books only get good when the focus switches to Guy Gardener turning them into a rag tag band of misfits

I agree...evil Aya seems to be lashing out at everyone now. Ironic that she targets the very planet that treated her badly in the episode "In love and war," when the Zamerons looked down at her because she was just a "mere machine, a robot." How being rejected can unleash a such monster. It's also strange that Aya would choose a duel rather than annihilating a whole planet - the old anti-monitor would just destroy everything. Maybe she is not as far gone as we thought...

Watched the whole episode now...it is all so very sad to see the darling Aya we have grown to love suddenly become so very bad. And there was so much tension between Razer and Aya now especially when Razer said; "Aya, what are you doing?" She stopped there momentarily - she was about to annihilate Hal and Carol at that point but she stopped...then changed her mind into "destroying all worlds," then flew off. I get the feeling she still holds some "feeling" for Razer...

This is what happens when you’re the only girl on the ship after your dumbass boyfriend breaks your heart in an attempt to “protect” you or himself from pain. If Aya had had a gal pal to talk to after Razer tried to renege on his declaration of love, she wouldn’t have tried to shut off all her emotions & purge the universe of the source of her pain.

The sad thing is, Aya's sadness and rage just kept building, but she kept on repressing it. Not only did Razer break her heart, but Hal and Killawog were no longer there for her, just an army of Manhunters were her only company. In this loneliness, she uploaded the Manhunters with the program that made her, so each of them was a copy of her who could understand her. . . . . . .They were company.

i admit it is so sad to see aya at this stage but can you blame her? She gives and gives and everyone takes her for granted and razer was just the icing on the cake. She risked her life for the guy and when she returns he takes back his love for her. i do hope razer makes it up to her and we can get the old aya back

You can't blame Razer for what he said. He's obviously lying, but think about it. The last two times he's said "I love you" to someone, they've died (albeit the fact that Aya came back to life). There's no doubt that Razer loves Aya and there's definitely no doubt she still loves him. I just hope neither of them ends up dying....

I think this is more of a subconscious attempt to resolve her inner conflict. Razer broke her heart, and she experiences pain for the first time. This battle is her way of trying to figure out what to do with her pain.

I think her hair was in some sort of bun. That or the ring is like enhancing her beauty or something. No, I'm not saying that because horny (okay, maybe a bit). I'm saying that because the ring is only used for females and it's very clear the Star Sapphires cars about their appearance. Carol, with short hair in the suit, probably wouldn't look as good as with long hair. But that's just my theory. I think it would've been funny for her to comment on it.

of top next ep is called "Larfleeze" so there may be some orange (avarice) lanterns i so want to see other lanterns as well indigo(compassion) yellow (fear) black (death) white (life) i think the series goes that way to war of the lights or blackest knights

Do you honestly believe that? Think about it, he never even noticed that she looked like Illana until Agapo brought it up. When they were about to kiss (at Illana's grave no less) he said that while he misses his dead love, it was a DIFFERENT life, meaning he's moved on and accepted the fact that he loves Aya. His love has to be real because he wouldn't have been able to transport through the star sapphires portal if it weren't. It only transports you to your true love, and it took him to Aya.

In the comics yes, their rings act as their own permanent life support for their blood circulation system. But in the show it seems that isn't the case.
