An orange shrub recipe for make various kinds of drinks. Make it using 500g of rock or granulated sugar, two oranges (500g after they are peeled), 500cc of apple cider vinegar, and 30g of sencha leaves.
To make the shrub, wash the oranges and wipe off the water. Once done, you can peel the oranges. Next, add sencha to a tea bag(s) (often times, fillable tea bags/paper pouches can be bought at your local Asian grocery store). After sanitizing jar and other tools you will be using with boiled water or food grade alcohol, add some of the sugar in first, then the oranges, then more sugar, then more oranges, until both ingredients are completely in the jar. Add the sencha tea bags on top and then pour in the apple cider vinegar. Give it a good shake and then let them sit in a dark, cool place for a week. After the first 24hrs have past, take out the tea bags. Try to shake the jar once a day to further mix the ingredients. After a week, take the oranges out and strain a liquid and it is done. Enjoy!
