I've worked with pressured tanks for welding and for purging certain military hardware with nitrogen. The Tanks are brass heads so the metal is soft. You don't haft to craft the bejesus out of them to keep them from leaking. If you think it might be leaking or not tight enough just use some soap and water mixture to test the connections. If it blows bubbles its leaking. Close the tank valve and remove the pressure regulator. Inspect the mating surfaces and ensure they are shaped similarly as in angles of the fittings and tank heads mating surfaces. Also check for dirt and debris and any possible dents cuts to those surfaces. Then reassemble and test for leaks. A little past snug is usually enough. If you over tighten then you can strip the brass fittings. Also make sure your regulators valves are set to closed before you mount it to the tank and before you open the tanks valve. Otherwise you are good to go. The soap and water is always a good way to test to leaks.

Thanks for your feedback. You're right you do not need to do that so hard. However we've seen issues many times with clients when the regulator with the extended parts like valve, splitters simply twisted by the weight of the equipment and the gas is released from the cylinder. 👍

I loved what happened at the beginning, when the co2 regulator could not be connected to the cylinder. It reminded me that it usually happens and you are left with a mixture of impotence, anger, since you invested in something good and it does not work. He was lucky to have another cylinder, but we don't have that. Good video.

I use the Neo CO2 on my Fluval Spec III. Works perfectly and it’s running all the time. Also very budget friendly. The media that the yeast feeds off of lasts a very long time. You’ll actually run out of yeast before the media. So what I did was buy a jar of yeast at the grocery store and use that. A single NEO CO2 bottle has lasted me almost 8 months and I still have enough to stretch it longer. Not bad for $20 here in the states.

I like these kind of videos! please do more! But I would like to say that the hose before the solenoid should be as short as possible. If the solenoid is closed co2 will build up in this part of hose until working pressure is met. If the solenoid opens the pressure is released and it gives a burst of co2. That is not necessarily a problem but it can make the hose pop off the glassware or empty the bubble counter faster then you would like...
@GreenAquaShop

That's right if someone uses a hose for the connection that should be the shortest as possible.

Dear Balazs, as always your YT channel is up to date and very neat! There is a small issue with my CO2 injection system, and I would like your professional advice. Unfortunately, here the water is hard, around 13-15GH. My PH is 7.6 and I realized after some time that if I want a PH drop point before the lights kick in, then I have to, not only have 2 hours before the injection to start, but also more than 3,5b/s which is kind of stressful to me 😅, and not to the inhabitants (yet) (15 days ish). Do you believe that the only solution seems to be the RO system, and then re-mineralize the water? Thank you in advance! Keep providing us with such professional tutorials! 😊

Hello! I really enjoy all your video guys. I have a quick question. Is it good or bad to place the Co2 diffuser just next to the suction pipe of my external filter? I'm thinking like this the Co2 has more time to dissolve in the water before being injected back to the tank via the outlet pipe. But maybe the Co2 concentration will be too high for my beneficial bacteria inside my external filter. What are your thought about it ?

Is the CO2 drop checker shape important? I'm setting up co2 for a 50 liters aquarium and I'd like to have it as clean as possible inside. I've seen balls, hang on and conic (the clasic one) drop checkers but I'm unsure if the ball or hang on won't work well due to the smaller surface area exposed to water.

Im not sure this is necessary. CO2 dilutes very well in water. It also dissipates quite easily into the air if there is too much water movement.
@GreenAquaShop
@GreenAquaShop 2 жыл бұрын
Make sure you have enough flow. Better to put the diffuser to the lower part of the aquarium, so the gas travels more before reaching the surface and has more chance to mix with the water. With a CO2 reactor this is a non existent issue. So if you're after a more efficient method i do recommend that.

I have such a problem with the co2 system that when I set the gas flow correctly, everything goes to waste the next day. After opening the solenoid valve, the gas flow is quite different and often does not fly in inches. I have already replaced two non-return valves because I could see the water in the hose below them and nothing helped. Recently, after opening the solenoid valve, the diffuser fired from the hose, which shouldn't happen right? I am asking for some advice what could be wrong. For now, it seems to me that I think I have a broken reducer - aguario blue. As I set the flow in the morning, it flies as it should, but the next day everything gets screwed up.

How about using just the co2 cylinder and pressure control valve and that’s it? Would it work?

Hi! An advice...what do you think of the co2 injectors directly on the outflow tube?

I am getting a 75 gallon tank set up. I noticed what looks like dragon stone in a flower bed in front of my new house. The guy who lived here before me had a tank, and when he died, I think they just dumped all the stones there. After digging around, I found a nice pile of similar stones, along with what looks like elephant skin stones. As I kept digging around, I ended up finding a ton of red and orange smoother rocks, with a couple black one, and a couple white ones. I'm gonna clean them up, and go from there. I don't think I'm going to have to buy rocks, just substrate and top dressing.

Hi! My opinion is that a solenoid valve is needed if in aquarium set pH controller. pH The controller turns ON the solenoid valve when the pH rises and turns it OFF when the pH reaches the desired level. In this case, the amount of CO2 supplied must be slightly higher than normal in order to ensure pH control by the solenoid valve. There are several questions. 1. What is your opinion about this application of the pH controller? 2. Have you used pH controllers? 3. What type of co2 reactor do you recommend: static (JBL Pro flora or Dennerle Flipper) or active with impeller (ISTA)?

1. controllers are great for a certain use. we use them mainly for larger aquariums 2. yup they are great 3. would go for another. like the one we use aqua care, aqua medic. the ones you listed isn't the best one for the task

Hello guys, First of all I have to say that this is an excellent video and secondly I would like to know what is that bubble counter solution? Here in Colombia I can't find anything like that, and the only thing that comes to mind is glycerin. What do you recommend?

Glycerin is good, however you need to be more careful with it. Works like an oil on connections 😀

Nice video but I was really hoping you were going to show the construction of the Aqua Medic 1000 and how you go about maintenance and cleaning of the pipe work once installed without getting water all over the place.
