The project aims to build the resilience of chronically vulnerable Somali people, households, communities, and systems to climatic shocks and other related risks in targeted pastoral, ago-pastoral, coastal, and peri-urban livelihood zones in Somaliland through improved and diversified livelihood strategies. The project primarily targets vulnerable communities in the Ceel-afweyn and Gar-adag districts and their surrounding villages in the Sanaag region.
The project is entitled “Consolidating Resilience Gains in Somaliland/Somalia” and is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) through World Vision. The project is part of SomReP Consortium.
In collaboration with NADFOR, Oxfam devised 11 Community Action and Adaptation Plans (CAAPs) across 11 targeted villages under these districts. The development of CAAPs was a long, tedious process where GCVCA assessments were conducted before formulating the CAAPs.

Somaliland should embrace greenhouse technology for better productivity and food security. Rangelands and ranching can help in better land management and livestock production.mountanous and riverine areas are reparian and afforestation of local water efficiency trees to a national policy.
