What I wouldn't give to go back in time and had you as a mentor to oversee my parents house being built. Lol! ^ *Long sentence alert* The house I grew up in was poorly built with so many mistakes. Now 30 years later...it's so bad and far behind that it breaks my heart. I have studied small projects to fix little things. Should've went with what I wanted and studied carpentry in school. I am wanting to do a darker stain like yours and hv tested a few different types of stains but still hv not found the right that I want. But your me is really darn close to what I’m looking for !! Can U give me name of stain? Looks a touch lighter than the ebony stain that I’ve tested. Great work!! Thx for any info!!

Awesome stuff. So the base trim on the bottom looks like the 1x6. The top base trim looks shorter height wise, did you cut the top base to less than the 1x6? If so what height were they cut to? I’m referring to the column base you cut at 45 degrees and nailed over the long corner trim pieces. Thanks again. I’m inspired 👍🏼
@GreenmarkBuilders
@GreenmarkBuilders Жыл бұрын
I use the rule of 3rds. Top base is 2/3 the height as the top. Whatever height you use, try this rule. I always stand back and look after tacking on a couple pieces first. Best of luck with your project!
