It was because the fishing was UNSTABLE. So if those fishermen had any vision at all, they would see that not only is Greenpeace is protecting the fish, but also their potential JOBS.. Also it never said to ban fishing there, they merely requested to build marine reserves so that fishing there can become stable...

History has shown that these green pirate vessels do nothing at all to advance their cause. I watched a show with the Sea Shepherd and it was one miserable failure after another. They serve as nothing but entertainment and target practice ie) Rainbow Warrior sunk by the French in 1985.

Yes, GP can be stupid and there are lots of better conservation organizations out there, but your broad statement that fish are an unlimited resource shows that you lack any knowledge about the subject which would give reasonable cause to have any substantial critical judgment that means anything. They're not just "fishermen out for a fish" and yes these people should be allowed to fish in -regulated- waters in peace. The thugs who threw stones and fired a gun should be arrested.

Do you want that? I highly doubt they are Vegan. Another point, If those people caught a few adults and created large fish farms in the ocean where they could fish instead, there wouldn't be that problem, but they are just catching wild fish without doing anything to control how many get to breed.

If there was a way to track and follow oil burning fishing vessels, in a boat that doesn't use oil, I'm sure they'd choose it. There isn't though, so they use what they can. Otherwise, no one would monitor the fishing area, and these fishermen would drive the fish, their source of livelihood, to extinction. How are their kids going to make a living, if their fathers hunted the blue fin to extinction?
