This song makes me cry because I remember being 17 n listening to this n thinking I’d never get old!! I’m 66 now n my friends r all dying!! 😭😵‍💫❤️🧐

What I saw -- Bruce opened with "Thunder Road" -- back in 1976 at the 2,000 seat Boston Music Hall (Orpheum Theater). Just him, sitting on a chair with his harmonica, accompanied on the piano, as a slow ballad. Half-way thru the song -- the first song! -- he was getting a STANDING OVATION. Couldn't believe it -- I've never seen a performer get that kind of rapturous response before!

In 1983 maybe 84, I heard of Bruce Springsteen for the first time in my 16 years. It was a bootleg album on cassette, I was hooked! I fell in love with the sound, the energy, that was pounding through the speakers of my 77 Mazda glad hatchback. I wish I had those tapes still! When I think it was the River this song came out and I was mesmerized by thunder road! And bad lands all of them! To this day I still say him and the East street band is the greatest rock and roll band of all time. Back then all my friends were going to the hair bands… me always just hung here in Springsteen land

I miss Patti in these latest concerts - 2023-2024. She adds that something extra. Wow what an audience. They are like the European ones with their enthusiasm. Lovely short post. ❤❤❤❤❤
