By just backing up the cattle corral with woven wire, we have a nice sheep corral. No need to purchase a new expensive sheep handling system. Go to greenpasturesfarm.net for more grazing tips.

Mr. Greg Judy, bless you for the work you do for your animals, and the land. I was inspired by you the first time I saw you on Justin Rhodes' great american farm tour, and was again inspired by you again today in Justin's new video. Keep up the good work, and just know, that there are a lot of people in the world that you inspire. Bless you and yours. Much love and hugs from Montreal :)

Sir, I'm here from Justin Rhodes vlog, like many others here now. You Sir, and Jan of course, are just awesome. I learned so much from your crash course with Justin and his parents - but most important, his second son. You showed us all that growing food does not need all the chemicals and processed grain fed to your healthy animals. Nature does it all for free !! WOW ! Pure, no non-sense common sense. Be sure I will follow you now on. Thank you !

Have no idea who Justin is (per all these comments). I've been a Greg Judy follower since my grass-fed beef ham-radio pal turned me onto him. I was learning from Gabe Brown and Will Harris and the soil-food-web folks before that. I've almost seen every Green Pastures video made. I have sheep in my future and cattle eventually.
@bigfootbubba14254 жыл бұрын
Just saw Justin's video and did not know you had a channel. I looked and you have a video posted from 6 years ago then nothing for 5 years. I first saw you in another video Justin did and you said do you hear that rip rip rip, it was a greedy cow pulling on the new grass, then a bull rushes by chasing a cow mounts her and starts laying pipe and Justin keeps on asking you questions like nothing to see here folks. "How Greg Judy Farms 1,600 Acres He Doesn’t Own". (subbing at 6.9K).
@gregjudyregenerativerancher4 жыл бұрын
Gosh after that first video 5 years ago, I wish that I would have kept going. Yeah that day the bulls were going a bit nuts after that cow that was in heat. That is what happens in nature, awesome stuff.

The concepts we teach will work any where. There will be differences in moisture, rest periods, etc but we are solar energy harvesters compliments of our wonderful herbivores.
@tealkerberus7484 жыл бұрын
Nice set of yards, good and solid. A three-way drafting race would let you sort the rams, wethers, and ewes a whole lot easier, and a race into an adjustable height loading ramp would really show people how professionals handle livestock. Interesting contrast between your channel and the Rhodes. Justin is a KZfaqr, who has a farm, and you're a farmer, who has a KZfaq channel.
@practicalsheepman Жыл бұрын
Apparently sheep handling is not Greg's area of expertise. That system would make for a long day working sheep. It wouldn't take much money to improve that system and make it much more efficient.
@gregjudyregenerativerancher Жыл бұрын
Keep it simple. My young men like handling sheep, builds muscle in areas that no other exercise will!
@practicalsheepman Жыл бұрын
@@gregjudyregenerativerancher Greg, someday you will come to realize the value of a decent sheep handling facility. It makes necessary tasks so much easier. Less stress on the sheep and the people. You already have most of what you need in place. Just add a race with a drafting gate and a drop gate on the end. Minimal expense. I have some ideas that I would love to share with you.

@gregjudyregenerativerancher4 жыл бұрын
There is no feet maintenance on our sheep flock. We do not feed grain ever. Grain fed to sheep grows hoof and then you have to trim them. Sheep don't need grain to produce healthy lambs.

Am reading that just avoiding grain makes the life cycle of the parasite hard to complete. They weren't meant to eat grain...just like cows. #GrassFeed
@kanddfamilyfarm4 жыл бұрын
Our sheep don't eat much hay either, unless they are absolutely starving. They eat more if they are in a mixed group and the cattle eat the hay, so they copy the behaviour.

Well , the Sun is low in it's activity s o it will be cooler for the next3-4 years and more moist. That's good for the grass but harder to manage. The last time the Sun did this was in the 1800s. You can go to the NASA web sight and see this.
