Dickey Betts I finally get to views as a team player, as he picks up the slack. On one video of an old song that they play A LOT, wherein he forgets the words and, almost falls to sleep on his organ. However, Gregg's worst, is other people's best...! He still pulled it off....

I think being stoned could be part of the problem, but... We all knew it and were probably stoned right along with him.

I was agreeing with you and then I forgot that I wasn't addressing Sharon Stark, who I normally agree with. I am just so tired of everyone pointing fingers at his addiction issues. He worked until the day he died. Addiction is a disease, like overeating is and overeating can also be deadly. Gregory kept two bands working and making money, he wrote amazing music and if you look at all the places he played and the dates and the sheer amount of songs and music he left us with, the fact that he battled addiction for some years, is irrelevant. He beat it. He didn't die addicted, and his addiction didn't kill him or slow him down. You are ever so right, all three of them are baked....obviously. Does it affect their music? I don't think so....

Yep, he gave the best performance of this video. Allman, who is my all-time favorite singer, was awful this time. Betts, as usual, played the acoustic as if it were an electric - it does not sound good. Toler put in some very tasteful playing that supported the 'arrangement', as it were.

@@mikeoneill1793 Frankie was just as good, a drummer without musical ego , who could back up anybody, no matter what the genre, keep up with anybody, and turn on a dime and lead at any time. Together, they were 4 times as good as they were with other players. Pretty damn fun when they put their instruments down, too.

I wish everyone would stop talking about the buzz he has...what do you know? He worked hard every single day of his life and if he were you average dope fiend...he couldn't have accomplished all that he accomplished...so give the man some respect please. And don't tell me that addiction hasn't touched your own family...over eating is an addiction and it's deadly. The overweight are so discriminated against...it a disease. I saw a show about the Allman Bros, and they stated that they used ALOT of drugs during those years. Cher divorced Gregg because of drug use. He was a great Southern bluees artist even stoned!!!

His struggle with his disease, didn't slow him down either...he worked until the day he died and he produced great songs and words that would rival any American writer, not to mention, he was charismatic, kind, kept 2 bands working and making money, helped make Duane's dream come true...his accomplishments far outweigh his faults....and these people are stuck on stoned....I just don't get it.
