Greg’s voice just fits with this one. Written and sung well by Warren, but Greg always rose to the occasion when singing this song. His gravely southern drawl and a lifetime of miles on the road and his tortured soul was simply perfect, imho. Bless his memory

This is the the perfect example of a conversation of guitar solos. Everyone is taking turns without losing the essence of the song. Nobody wants to outshine anyone with some fancy lick that will ruin the flow. DT turning down the volume of his amp clearly showed a mutual respect for the Trey and Warren.

You know it's truth when the music makes sense. When your heart over flows with warmth and eyes tear up, your throat tightens up, legs move in sync with the tunes being played. Could dance all night until the break of day..

Supposedly Gregg said he never believed in reincarnation until he heard Derek play. And it's common knowledge that Derek loves Duane and studied his playing and music growing up. Hell, he has one of Duane's Marshalls from "At Fillmore East". So, yea. I think Derek is likely a bigger Duane-head than most all of us lol They jammed so hard, it even gives ME guitar face 😆

I gave up on radio music many years ago. Heard nothing innovative, nothing worth listening to. Went in search of the real stuff. Have discovered along the way many artists who have been carrying the torch, these guys reign at the top (including TTB). Finding these amazing performances has justified and fulfilled my journey. It has re-filled my soul's craving for talent, soul and authenticity. This is musical paradise.

@@djol3336 They do but I also hear people say that today's rock music sucks and they keep listening to all the same songs that they have been listening to for the last 50 years. Look at all the classic rock radio stations and even worse, classic rock bar bands. Sure a lot of those songs are great but hearing them every day for decades is too much. I stopped listening to FM rock radio 25 years ago.

What can you say ~ Beautiful, sweet music from, in my humble opinion, some of the very best ever, and, for me, one of the songs throughout my life that has touched me deeply, deep in my heart, in my emotions, and when nothing else can break that sad horrible loneliness that I'm in, all alone, I listen to this, and look real hard for some light, light at the end of that tunnel, whatever that tunnel is or consists of ~ and, I see a glimmer ~ sometimes ~ not very much anymore though if I'm being honest ~ God bless all who read this ~ always and all ways ~ ✌ "So many times I had it made" had riches beyond my wildest dreams, and didn't even have two nickles to rub together, not a penny to my name ~❤

I used to ride my bike to Paul’s house and sneak into his older brothers room and listen to this music. His brother was smart, four Altec 160W green tube amps connected in bridges, a crossover network in a cigar box with the crossover frequencies calculated in pencil on the lid, Altec and BSR speakers, you get the idea. It was all fun until Paul’s older brother did not come back from Vietnam (well in a way he did). I still love the Dead 50 years later. Some day, I too will pass and all of this will make sense. I want to go with a song in my heart.

I remember one of their writers making shit up about the Grateful Dead Family Reunion. I was there front row for all the performances and the writer made up all kind of shit about Phil singing different lyrics. I've been around long enough to watch some of the Toni Brown Band's early performances and to see the eventual sell out of a once great magazine. Enjoy being custified by a bunch of greedy bastards.

But that said... Phish played a very minor role in the jammies so I don't know what's gettin your britches so up in anger but the jammies I went to had loads of musicians from different bands there all celebrating the jam scene that encompasses so many different styles of music.
