This may bring a smile to your face. I have been trying to get the recommended sausage rolls at Aldi for a few weeks now. Finally on Friday they were back in stock. At the checkout I was served by a young girl who said "oh great we have got those back in" - she added that she believed they were better than Greggs according to 'the internet'. I answered her saying oh you have been watching the Bald Foodie Guy have you to which she replied "Yes that's It" Your fan base is obviously growing - keep up the good work !!!!

Thanks for this. Most people who call themselves foodies tend to only like certain exotic and/or expensive foods. They generally don’t like most food. I think anyone who can genuinely enjoy a 21p frozen sausage roll is much more deserving of the title.

This comment reminds me ov a video I watched where a lady now in her 80s writing for a smaller media outlet in America reviews restaurants, where she differed was she ate at franchised restaurants or large brand restaurants, she rated the premises along with the food, she received some ridicule because these restaurants aren't the kind that the Michelin star system would entertain, yet most people eat in these restaurants because the food is not expensive. Lo and behold a top food critic came to her defense, he said that it was a good idea to rate these restaurants, after all they provide a service to people who can't afford expensive restaurants, many were in premises that had excellent decor and the food they provided was tasty and good value regarding price, the service was often as good as an expensive restaurants as well, I love that this man defended her

I've brought both brands and my kids and I have never noticed the difference. I personally find the worst swap in aldi/lidl is the pizzas. Their pizzas don't live up to those of other brands at all. My husband swears by daddy's brown sauce but I've been filling his bottle up with aldi for over a month and he's not said anything 😂😂

Honest, no nonsense reviews about everyday food products - just what we need. What I like most is that you make me want to try stuff I wouldn't normally consider. Well done. For those suggesting that these products could have come from the same factory - look closely. There is a clear difference in the appearance of the raw products - the pastry is a different colour, and the scoring is in opposite directions relative to the seam. In the cooked products, one was clearly more puffed than the other.
@BaldFoodieGuy2 жыл бұрын
Thank you yes pretty much the same

People would be surprised if they really knew how many products were exactly the same, yet sold by two different companies at very different prices. I worked for a company that did that and when the 'expensive' company visited, we had to hide all products and references to the 'budget' company. That way they wouldn't know what other companies paid for the same product. :-)

Great video. However, I wonder if these came out of the same factory? You only compared 1 roll from each pack, it would be better to compare all of them or even weigh all 4 together from each pack. Similarly, 1% difference in pork content could be a calculation difference between the two suppliers plus rounding errors. What is significant to me is that you could not tell the difference in taste, that is the most important criteria. In such a situation buy the cheapest! We buy some products from the new LIDL store near us here in Hove and the quality has improved so much in recent years.

Nice to see Aldi foregoing the need for pointless plastic in their packaging. I wouldn't buy the greggs even if they were ten times better and cheaper because of the needless plastic. :-(

Both good but I still think the Greggs win hands down Maybe I’m a snob 😂😂😂

Hello not been following for long just joined you an excellect video who would think no difference between aldi and greggs I've often thought that maybe the same food but just packaged differently and you have done a great job in showing us keep up the great work and thank you 👏👏👏

I’ve tried both of these and the Aldi ones in my view taste better and less than half the price-it’s no contest really-Aldi wins by a country mile

The things about the Greg's ones is both Greg's and Iceland are taking a bigger chunk of the purchase price

Don't forget to invite one of your chavvy neighbours and her snot nosed kids into your home while you eat it so you can experience the authentic Greggs experience

As someone else mentioned...'possibly' both made in same factory and packed in different boxes. I know from experience that DIY and car care type products were exactly the same, but packaged differently, with biggggg differences in price to the end user.

Cheers Paul for that

Never bought anything from Greggs since the heir to the Greggs empire was locked up for abusing little kids.

Hi, just came across your channel. Watched the sausage roll comparison with aldi and greggs. Great video. Experience tells me to steer clear of copies for the most part but will be watching your channel more often from now on for some good comparison advise!!
