That's one of the reasons why this movie was controversial with parents. Not only did they feel the "PG" rating was misleading, but they felt the TV spots, toy commercials, etc, was dishonestly selling this movie as a kid friendly film. They felt blind sided when they walked in expecting an "E.T." -like film, and ended seeing a twisted light horror movie with people getting killed.
