Shame that satellites are reporting a greening of the earth because of slightly higher temps and co2 levels then I guess? Also such a shame that crop yields are up globally, partly because of slightly higher temps and co2 levels. Terrible shame also I suppose that 100 years ago half a million people died from weather related causes, and today that figure is 20,000. And I guess the biggest shame of all is climate warriors all over KZfaq, whose energy consumption has gone up year on year, on their fossil fuel created and powered electronic devices, screaming that there's a climate crisis! Funny how the "greens" don't ever mention these points. Almost like there's another agenda...... Who would have thought that!

Anyone reading this could do what I'm suggesting, a packaging recycling business for medium to large towns and cities, you will need a warehouse which could be paid for by giving the landlord a percentage of the profits instead of paying a set fee for rent, so basically you set up a drop of point for all types of plastic packaging which is then sorted and sold to companies for a fraction of the cost of what it would cost if it was new packaging, thus saving the council thousands of pounds in refuse disposal costs and saving companies thousands from purchasing new packaging and saving tons of plastic from going to landfill, incineration etc.

@Abu Hajaar To think that humans can do what they want for as long as they want is a silly notion. Resources, including a c02 ceiling, is not infinite. Why wait until we're at that breaking point? We have the technology to give up fossil fuels, or at the very least, start implementing large scale changes. You talk about a carbon tax while OPEC sits back and makes trillions. What a joke. A secondary benefit of starting now would mean cleaner water, cleaner air, fewer pollution borne illnesses. Why does the US need to wait before other countries do it? We used to be innovators. We used to lead, and you're right, now all we do is follow.

One crisp winter morning in Sweden, a cute little girl named The Angry Beaver woke up to a perfect world, one where there were no petroleum products ruining the earth. She tossed aside her cotton sheet and wool blanket and stepped out onto a dirt floor covered with willow bark that had been pulverized with rocks. “What’s this?” she asked. “Pulverized willow bark,” replied her fairy godmother. “What happened to the carpet?” she asked. “The carpet was nylon, which is made from butadiene and hydrogen cyanide, both made from petroleum,” came the response. The Angry Beaver smiled, acknowledging that adjustments are necessary to save the planet, and moved to the sink to brush her teeth where instead of a toothbrush, she found a willow, mangled on one end to expose wood fibre bristles. “Your old toothbrush?” noted her godmother, “Also nylon.” “Where’s the water?” asked The Angry Beaver “Down the road in the canal,” replied her godmother, ‘Just make sure you avoid water with cholera in it” “Why’s there no running water?” The Angry Beaver asked, becoming a little peevish. “Well,” said her godmother, who happened to teach engineering at MIT, “Where do we begin?” There followed a long monologue about how sink valves need elastomer seats and how copper pipes contain copper, which has to be mined and how it’s impossible to make all-electric earth-moving equipment with no gear lubrication or tires and how ore has to be smelted to a make metal, and that’s tough to do with only electricity as a source of heat, and even if you use only electricity, the wires need insulation, which is petroleum-based, and though most of Sweden’s energy is produced in an environmentally friendly way because of hydro and nuclear, if you do a mass and energy balance around the whole system, you still need lots of petroleum products like lubricants and nylon and rubber for tires and asphalt for filling potholes and wax and iPhone plastic and elastic to hold your underwear up while operating a copper smelting furnace and . . . “What’s for breakfast?” interjected The Angry Beaver whose head was hurting. "Fresh, range-fed chicken eggs,” replied her godmother. “Raw.” “How so, raw?” inquired The Angry Beaver. “Well, . . .” And once again, Greta was told about the need for petroleum products like transformer oil and scores of petroleum products essential for producing metals for frying pans and in the end was educated about how you can’t have a petroleum-free world and then cook eggs. Unless you rip your front fence up and start a fire and carefully cook your egg in an orange peel like you do in Boy Scouts. Not that you can find oranges in Sweden anymore. “But I want poached eggs like my Aunt Tilda makes,” lamented The Angry Beaver. “Tilda died this morning,” the godmother explained. “Bacterial pneumonia.” “What?!” interjected The Angry Beaver.. “No one dies of bacterial pneumonia! We have penicillin.” “Not anymore,” explained godmother “The production of penicillin requires chemical extraction using isobutyl acetate, which, if you know your organic chemistry, is petroleum-based. Lots of people are dying, which is problematic because there’s not any easy way of disposing of the bodies since backhoes need hydraulic oil and crematoriums can’t really burn many bodies using as fuel Swedish fences and furniture, which are rapidly disappearing - being used on the black market for roasting eggs and staying warm.” This represents only a fraction of The Angry Beavers’s day, a day without microphones to exclaim into and a day without much food, and a day without carbon-fibre boats to sail in, but a day that will save the planet. Tune in tomorrow when The Angry Beaver needs a root canal and learns how Novocain is synthesized.

Here in Canada I do not see any amount of change, people are to complacent in that it has not yet affected their lifestyle so they continue polluting with no conscience. We have a conservative party that has taken a step backwards in that they put the dollar as the most important. The liberal government does not have the guts to make the necessary changes into law. The Green party is the only one that continues its long crusade to lessen our footprint but unfortunately they have the least support. We have an election coming in a few months I sincerely hope we see the change in political will to get on the wagon and make this quest a priority.

Greta is a genius and hero. The kind that never gives up. But it is up to us to not give. We desperately need many more activists. None of them (or very, very, very rarely) will be of Greta's calibre, but what matters are the numbers. We have to be a huge mass, a huge wave of activists.

B"H Laudable goals, laudable courage, NOT too young to take up this cause, and environmental purity and cleanliness, and resources conservation, must take precedence, but there are other factors, and some things that this courageous young woman has not yet been taught in earth/meteorological/space sciences are part of what is causing such unusual weather and seismic activity, so the most important thing is, yes, simplify, yes, conserve, yes, stop polluting, but it's vital, as she says, to CARE about what happens to each and every person on the planet, and in some cases, it may be impossible to stop on a dime, without unnecessary deaths resulting due to not enough resources being employed where they are necessary, to save lives, at a given time, as disasters proliferate, so, it's a vital cause, but, in order to reach the goal of saving lives and having a world, for posterity, it's important to look at ALL the science, from all the various fields, and to keep working together, and particularly to care about each individual, and about posterity. All the wealth, knowledge, and enjoyment, in the world', is useless, without someone who comes afterwards, to give it to!

Industry's intrusion on the EPA and on EPA's directives, serves as a sign that the primary cause of climate change is the 'Global Economic Model' GEM, and it's incorrect definition of profit. Technology is the indirect cause of climate change. We need a new GEM that supports a new definition of profit, and this 'profit' definition must map well with nature's economy. In nature, we have been paid in full, in advance, and our job is to gain sustenance without going into Overshoot. I recommend this definition: Profit = our gratefulness and loving care for our Environment, and for the sustenance that it provides to all of us. Clearly, this definition of profit does require a new GEM. The central part of the new Global Economic Model should be the EPA. EPA members will vote on the best 'Profit' definition that states sustenance is our only actual 'gain' without which we can't live, and states that the environment is our only source of sustenance. As the central hub of the new GEM, EPA members will establish, by vote, all directives related to both, the GEM and climate rescue strategies. Here are just some rough ideas of what the EPA directives might be: 1.) Population: Initially we need a one child per family directive. 2.) In place of income, jobs would have an 'equivalency rating'. Some jobs are still more important and more difficult than others. 3.) All equivalency ratings will increase at the same time if and when the environment becomes healthier. The lowest EquivRate must still be livable. 4.) Everyone who can work will be able, and required, to get jobs. No more expenses, so no more cutting jobs to reduce expenses; thus, virtually no more homelessness. 5.) No manufacturing of useless and unnecessary products. All products will be scrutinized by various rating methods. 6.) Whenever possible products should last a lifetime and or be easily upgradable, so we don't buy the same products repeatedly. 7.) EPA will direct "Work Force Flow". Example: Shoe manufacturer will produce 100yearLife shoes for 3 years, then reduce output to about 1/10 of full capacity, and the majority of shoe employees will be shifted to other work assignments by the EPA. Employees still keep their EquivRate in-between jobs. I know that this is just a rough outline of what we must do, but it's a good starting point. This is our Ark. Please help build it! Questions, suggestions and any comments for or against this idea will be very deeply appreciated. Thank you! 💖
