I don't see these guys as arrogant at all - quite the contrary, they're really polite and self aware of their success - which should not be mixed with arrogance. They're in their early 20s, and achieving something so big at that age - especially when it comes to rock music - hasn't happened in ages. You can love them or hate them, but you cannot dispute their accomplishments. These youngsters are among those few bands who brought rock 'n' roll back where it belongs and where it should always be - and instead of bashing them, complaining and comparing, try being thankful instead. What's the point of hating and bashing anyway, except wasting precious time.
@spoonnoise8332
@spoonnoise8332 4 жыл бұрын
Darija Đumić have you seen similar critics for bands and artists like Rival Sons or Des Rocs for example? I haven’t, nobody is critiquing bands for having a more classic rock sound, they’re critiquing those who are just ripping off those sounds instead of doing their own thing
@20thCenturyQueen
@20thCenturyQueen 4 жыл бұрын
@@spoonnoise8332 back in the days, they also compared tons of other singers for sounding and looking exactly like Plant (Denny Wolf from Kingdom Come and even David Coverdale). But they all managed to push their own stuff and their own bands - and to bury down those comparisons. Which is, I believe, the exact same thing Greta will do in the near future. People are hating them as if they had already made tons of records (and not barely two - amazing records, just saying!) which are entirely a Zeppelin rip off - give them a chance for crying out loud! In the end, Zepp was also ripping off some other acts when they were in the beginning of their career - and today no one knows about those acts, but everyone knows about Led Zeppelin. So... :)
@spoonnoise8332
@spoonnoise8332 4 жыл бұрын
Darija Đumić Some of the band’s fans are so stubborn as to say Greta Van Fleet doesn’t sound much like Led Zeppelin or because it’s ripping off one of the greatest rock bands of history, it’s ok to do so. So I do hope the band sounds different in the next album because otherwise it’s gonna be disappointing if people keep supporting them
@marc8828
@marc8828 4 жыл бұрын
@@spoonnoise8332 If you would watch their live shows, you would see how much they are distancing themselves from Zeppelin. In this past year, they've played huge festival-type shows in which they create this uniquely extravagant experience for the audience, and when they play smaller more intimate venues, they really are innovate in terms of their live performance. Not saying Zeppelin wasn't. But you're only looking at half the story if you're solely basing their comparisons off of their recorded songs. To me, some of their recent live shows (i.e. Lollapalooza in Chile), REALLY point to some amazing efforts at being SO MUCH MORE dynamic in their sound and performance delivery.

Stop with these zep comments, atleast they're trying something and keeping the magic of rock alive! In these days its very hard for a rock band to reach where they've reached and they must be applauded for that. Tiger Berry Guy You’re right he’s definitely not angry but definitely knocks him a bit. Also I don’t think they’re a bad band, I hope they continue to have a good career and get even better. It’s just odd to compare one of the biggest bands of all time to a new and up-and-coming band that still may be hasn’t found their niche yet. There’s tons of great bands that start it off sounding like one band and then turned into something completely different and amazing. Perhaps all the discussion about them sending like Led Zeppelin will help them go into a different and unique direction. Thank you for the civil exchange Tiger Berry Guy

You could also consider that when Led Zeppelin first started they could’ve been considered a rip off band of American blues and rock ‘n’ roll. There’s definitely examples where Led Zeppelin either were heavily inspired or lifted other musicians work. However I don’t mind this because I don’t want music to remain stagnant and I want it to grow. Inspiration and influence is a massive part of that.

I listened to a LOT of Interviews of Greta Van Fleet Memeber and one thing that stands out a LOT - their view on LIFE gives me a LOT of hope for the FUTURE. Why? They are more MATURE at their age than MOST of my friends and we are RETIRED and many chose to grow along they but just as many chose very immature lives and guys like these hold an upstanding example that I ONLY WISH had more of in my famiy and friends!

I was very impressed by 3 GVF songs. I am hoping to eventually hear a 4th. They are smart to focus on playing live, instead of all the electronic cheats like autotune that most lazy, greedy musicians are using as a crappy crutch.

GVF, making the BEST music my ears have had the pleasure of listening to in DECADES! Historic. Their live experience is just as good, if not even better than their recorded...Epic. The icing on the cake? All 4 guys are incredibly likable...professional, composed, respectful...a breath of fresh air.

@@David-cu1xy YAWN. Love Zep. However, TruthBomb: they have been accused of copying as well. In fact, plagiarism has plagued them...So... My opinion: ANY band would love to be compared to Led Zeppelin & wear it like a badge of honor. Again, the guys are making the BEST music my ears have had the pleasure of listening to in DECADES! Historic. Their live experience is just as good, if not even better than their recorded...Epic. The icing on the cake? All 4 guys are incredibly likable...professional, composed, respectful...a breath of fresh air.
