Well, guess I'm just spoiled on the real deal. Anyone and any band can reach a very high profile if they have the goods...and enough money that's how corrupt the music "business" is. Page was a session musician that pooled all his experience into forming Led Zeppelin and that's where his creative spark came from. He also wanted musicians that were good enough to share the attention equally on the songs they wrote and was "lucky" enough to find Plant and Bonham both of whom were unique enough in their style and just what Page wanted and ended up changing the game, JPJ was smart enough to volunteer for the job as bassist and keyboards and equally as talented. They were doing what nobody else was doing at the time which absolutely worked in their favor. The result was a catalog of music that just hit you off the bat. Being a Led Zeppelin fan is like finding the love of your life...no one else can follow the act no matter how hard you try to look.

I'm a boomer and I've always loved Zeppelin, but in my opinion, these guys are obviously talented and anyone who says otherwise is just fooling themselves. And no, they didn't get where they are now because they had money or means...they worked their asses off and played wherever and whenever they could; that's where they got found. They no longer sound like Zeppelin, they sound like Greta Van Fleet, and I couldn't be happier.

Wow lots of people here must have very sad, empty lives. To watch a video of a band you don't like and spout abuse about the way they look or the music they're playing... It just smacks of jealousy. Does your own wee favourite band not get enough attention? 😢 Is that what it is? Don't you have anything better to do? Something positive maybe, like listen to music you like, or find another hobby, read, learn about the world....

The amount of hate in this comment section is insane. The video is online for one hour and everything I read is full of hate. If you don't like them, why do you keep watching the videos? Just to put some hate out there? Now for real, their newer stuff doesn't even sound like zep anymore. Is used to sound a little like it, but really you can easily tell them apart now, if you can't, I suggest listening a little more closely to both Zeppelin and GVF. And even then they literally do no harm by sounding like this. Everything else is just a matter of personal taste, so please think again before you post something filled with hate, only reading this literally makes me feel sick. Tbh they bring it on them themselves. Judging by your comment you must be a big fan which is cool and all you do you but they are so unoriginal it hurts. They have potential but they dont push any boundaries and it comes off as a lazy attempt to just be a cash grab on nostalgia. I do admit I do like one song which is Black Smoke Rising but other than that they are just meh. Just my opinion

That's never gonna change. I dont really like GVF but I understand others do and that's great that's the beauty of music. Is sounding like Led zep a bad thing though? The singer gets a lot of stick for sounding like him, which, you forget to admire because sounding like Plant is a skill. It keeps the spirit and sound of their music alive for new generations to appreciate. Some douches might say ‘who’s this Led zep the comments refer to’ And gain another set of fans so that their music isn’t lost. You tell me other bands that don’t sound frightfully similar to an older band and I’ll sit and wait. Plus, plant actually loved these and rated them as an up and coming group.

RP is very tired of being associated with the band that put him on the map in the first place so he's more than happy to hand over the reins to someone that's trying to take his place but the thing is that Robert was called irritating by critics and Led Zeppelin "hype" but but now it's the other way around, Robert was more operatic and ironically it's the other guy that's irritating with GVF being total hype because it sells.

There's a reason why Led Zeppelin were Led Zeppelin which is what GVF and their supporters do not understand. He also wanted musicians that were good enough to share the attention equally on the songs they wrote and was "lucky" enough to find Plant and Bonham both of whom were unique enough in their style and just what Page wanted and ended up changing the game, JPJ was smart enough to volunteer for the job as bassist and keyboards and equally as talented and well versed in his craft. After Zeppelin he ends up being choirmaster for The World Renowned Vienna Boys Choir, not an easy feat, he also wrote his own opera bit of real genius there. They were doing what nobody else was doing at the time which absolutely worked in their favor. The result was a catalog of music that just hit you off the bat. Being a Led Zeppelin fan is like finding the love of your life...no one else can follow the act no matter how hard you try to look.

Maybe it’s just me but they come across a bit douchey Saw them a couple months ago and the guitarist played a 10 minute solo where he just repeated the same licks over and over again. Overall was not very impressed, they are being pushed hard by the media and did not earn their way as other bands have.

Brett Fuller - ok I cannot let this comment go by. Don’t know what you mean by douchey do you mean shady? You say you went to see them so I will give you credit for that you gave them a try you must have liked something about them tickets are at least $100 - I’ve seen them twice general admission I got pretty close to the front so a good view they did not disappoint and there were fans of all ages which I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed in many years of concert going.. As for being “pushed by the media” I barely hear them on radio there’s one station that’s plays them maybe once a day and I’m in Toronto a fairly big city. They captured my interest a couple years ago I found them exciting to follow, they have their own minds no one is “pushing” them to share their views hell I even saw a twitter post two days ago with two radio jockeys in their hometown who mentioned they were trying to get them on the Ellen DeGeneris show and the boys said “daytime is not really their thing!” Who in their right mind would turn down a chance to be on arguably the biggest daytime talk show going?? Anyways I just couldn’t let your comment go without my big fan girl reply. 😀 Cheers.

Wow, what makes you say they haven't done their time as other bands have? They have actually been playing together since about 2012. They played tons of gigs in small bars etc that their parents would take them to as they were underage. They even played at biker parties in the woods! The media hasn't been pushing them at all, they barely get any radio play yet they've managed to build a massive fan base.They've really taken off in the last couple of years because so many people, myself included, have been waiting for a band like them for so long! I've seen them live three times now and they did not disappoint! And yes, I'm a fan girl. Proud to be!

How r they ripping of Led Zep. It's only highway tune that sounds like Zep. That was in their double EP. If you listen to their debut album, they produce more than just rip off songs. Plus they r one of the few rocks bands in the somewhat mainstream music industry. Without them, the only new songs you can listen to is rap and pop.

If the music was different at least I think they would sound alright. But the fact that they write classic rock sounding music along with the obvious Robert Plant like vocals it just sounds very unoriginal and bland. Develop a more modern sound musically and they wouldnt get shit on so much.

What’s with the matching silk shirts? The questions in this interview are terrible. This interview seems like a “deep dive” into who you guys are that just went bad. It’s not shedding a positive light on you. You seem superficial here and even worse, contrived. So I really dig your music dudes. The Zeppelin thing is only gonna get you so far though. I am wondering when we will see and hear who you guys really are???

Tony Simmons Any publicity is good, I guess. I mean, when you manage to steal Zep’s sound you know your good, but if we were to get these dudes their own great sound and Steel Panther to be serious we got 2 true rock and roll bands

They didn’t try to be like led zeppelin. Josh started singing like that because of how loud the band was (when they were only in there garage and the amps were too loud) and he didn’t have a mike for a long period of time so he started signing like that because it was the only way he was able to be herd. And for the rest there main inspo was not led zeppelin. So before assuming things do a bit of research

@@lauraarsenault6072 Just because they shy away from the Zep comparison in interviews doesn’t mean they aren’t musically influenced by them. Josh was heavily influenced by RPlant. He even does the elegant hand gestures that Plant would do. He has talked about his influence by Plant. The other guys admit to being influenced by Zep AND other bands/genre’s as well. If you don’t hear the Zep influence in their music, you’re either not aware of Zep or you have a confirmation bias that they aren’t influenced by Zeppelin. It’s nothing to be leery of. Zep has influenced literally thousands of artists. The spirit of Zeppelin is to not have boundaries and be experimental as well. Never make the same song twice. But yes, I definitely hear JPage in Jake’s playing and John Paul Jones in Sam’s playing. Sam has even worked hard at his keyboard playing, and just like JPJ, he is the bass player as well. It’s crystal clear that Zep had a HUGE influence on them. Any music fan over 40 smiled the first time they heard the band. “Ah, a group of young guys paying tribute to the mighty Zep”.

Because it’s not just the outcome, it’s the process. Maybe you’ve never made music, but as someone who has, the process is so important. You focus on a part of a song for a month or two, and get really frustrated. Then something hits, you figure it out, and it’s amazing to you. It’s not all about the outcome.

What a bunch of dumbass questions they were asked. I would have gotten up and walked away. Why are they asked these child like questions? How embarrassing. As for Zeppelin, my favorite band, they took from a lot of blues musicians, and others, and then made it into their own style. So Zeppelin, didn't come up with their own music, yes they wrote quite a bit of their own. At least GVF, wrote their own music. I like GVF, I don't understand why people are getting upset at them. Pay no attention to them then. I cannot stand country music, but I don't go around cutting it down. I am not much for Rap either. All throughout music, musicians have gotten their ideas from other musicians. I hated this interview, it was completely moronic. I believe *Loudwire* has something against them too. If not, who ever wrote the questions should be fired. Or at least reprimanded.
