Can't wait for more 10th Edition battle reports

Been watching a lot of battle reports for 10th and this one really stands out. The editing combined with the fun you two have with the lore makes it so refreshing. Excited for more!

Love to see the battle report, loving the new terminators. First though when I read their data sheet “Stephan’s day of all terminators has arrived!” Always a good time watching you guys play!

One thing I believe you missed is that Terminators have 4 attacks now, which is neat

22:10 thats why the mission does not only have 3 objective markers. The 2 in the deployments zones are for scoring secondaries.

Strategic reserves can come in later than 3rd round as thats when they can be set up 6" from any edge

And so begins another Chapter in 40k. I' e only played 2 Incursion games but so far I like it. Having characters in units is so thematic. Your face is also a charming 9/10 as always.

@1:01:39 - Page 18/25 10th Ed Core Rules - "Aircraft can only make a normal move, and can do so even when within engagement range of enemy models." Something that might also be worth noting on Page 18/25 - "Only units that can Fly can charge at or make melee attacks against aircraft." I don't believe the Terminators could have been able to charge the Heldrake. Makes my day to see you post new reports. Great to see Simandus put in the work!

Good battle rep as always! Loving the manoeuvrability with grey knights now. One thing which might have been wrong is the inqusitor being able to teleport assault as she doesnt have teleport assault keyword.

Hey! Did you know that To pit one’s own psychic prowess against the sorcerous might of the Thousand Sons is to be trapped, helpless and screaming within one’s own mind?

The strat you mentioned with Assault is Death from the Warp, it activates in your Movement Phase and until the end of that phase all ranged weapons in the chosen unit get the Assault keyword and a +1 to hit. Completely USELESS if you take it as written. Or you can use it as intended. It also gives ALL weapons the buffs, not just Storm Bolters. With the first overwatch, are all those Rubrics within 12" for their Warpflamers... it seems very close for some of them. The terminators storm bolter Mansirs butt, missed twice not once. Terminators have 4 attacks not three (I've seen that this has been mentioned in another comment) An Apothecary can still use his Narthecium on his Terminator unit even while they are in reserves. So when redeployed via Teleport Assault the unit should have been at full strength. Also no surprise that Grey Knights have been struggling, they are far to far expensive. In 9th they were relatively squishy and slow, so really did need a save boost and movement boost to become viable, 10th has seen to that, but everything is now +25% more expensive, making them very difficult to create a decent list with. Flamestorm Cannons from a Redeemer are AP2 D2. Strategic Reserves, Reserves and Deep Strike are all different things: Strategic Reserves are when you choose so not set up any unit and place them into Strategic Reserves instead, they can deploy in any of your Reinforcement Steps but not in Turn 1. There is nothing about the turn 3 restriction. Turn 2 they must be within 6" of any Battlefield Edge but not within your opponents Deployment Zone. Turn 4 onwards, any Battlefield Edge, including your opponents. Reserves can come in in any Reinforcement Step of your Movement Phase. Including Turn 1! How these units get deployed from Reserves are detailed on their Datacard. Deep Strike just allows you to place units into Reserve, but adds that you can be deployed anywhere more than 9" horizontally from any enemy model. Therefore in Round 3 of this game the Terminators that Mists of Deimos was used on can go into Strategic Reserves, then redeploy from a Table Edge in Round 4.

You might want to double check just in case with the commentary but picking them up into strategic reserves with the deep strike come down as deep strike instead

Mists avoids the Turn 4-5 rule FYI.

Your strategic reserves come on in the reserve step of the movement phase and can come on from turn 2 onwards and if they are not brought on before the game ends they count as being destroyed.

Is there a particular reason you didn't give special ranged weapons to your GM, your captain and your terminator squads ? I didn't know inquisitors could lead our terminators! That's so cool!

5 man Saladin squad with a banner and 3 flamers for over watch and ignore cover. Brutal over watch and if you Drop them on the second floor in cover you get +1 ap and damage I think.

If a move can't maintain unit coherence, then you can't make that move I believe. 1:01:49 so he would keep his model but have to move differently.

still feels wierd to be to lose most of our army and still win. pyrric victory for all. i still think there should be new GK chapters made as every battle is a desperate one and the grey knights all die without fail, most of the time in the story, the need has never been greater. plus the grey knights need to enact the terminus decree, let the emperor be reborn into a god or a new body, gotta get past all those custodes. nice battle report way to pull off the win!

I'm surprised you didn't use mist of Deimos to get your Nemesis dreadknight out of there while he's still at nine wounds. Wait for the last unit to move poof disappear

I recomend getting 6 Tzaangore Enlightened and 1 shaman in the future. They are excelent character snipers.

Warpflamers have ignores cover so the dreadknight wouldn't have benefited T1. As would've the rubrics from the heavy incinerator.

Termies are way better than pallies with the narcecium. 10-man squad is nearly immune to everything.

I played my first 10th edition game with Grey Knights a few hours ago and one of the main things I don't like so far is that a solely psychic chapter now has so few psychic powers. In general though I really like how streamlined the game feels.

I'm curious, how you you think First to the Fray interacts with Rapid Ingress? I am also unsure why they mentioned transports in it if First to the Fray doesn't allow the transport to come in on turn 1. It seems to contradict the army design. There just seems to be no real positive to ever putting a unit with First to the Fray in a transport. The rest of our army has deep strike so they don't count towards the strategic reserves limit anyways. And the main reason you'd take First to the Fray is to deep strike on turn 1, so why put them in a landraider that wouldn't let you do that? For me I feel like they want you to be able to bring it in on turn 1 but the wording of the rules doesn't allow that. Either way, this new army rule is how I've always tried to play Grey Knights so I'm super stoked!

Just a quick constructive feedback. I love the content that you put up, I'm a GK enthusiast as well though the camera movements on your battle report makes me and my gf really dizzy. SOmetimes its unbearable. This is not something to put shade or something, we're just hoping that the camera movement can become a less erratic. thanks for the content always!

It makes me sad how bad NDKs are this edition. Oh well I guess its only lore accurate Terminator+Landraider armies. Mwahahaha my Interceptors and Dreadknights will take a well deserved rest on the shelf.

Helldrake have to start in Reserve and can come in 2nd Round. DEPLOYING AIRCRAFT When you are instructed to Declare Battle Formations, Aircraft models must start the battle in Reserves instead of being set up on the battlefield. Once the battle has started, Aircraft models are then treated as Strategic Reserves units for all rules purposes (pg 43). Only units that are themselves placed into Reserves can start the battle embarked within Aircraft Transport models that are in Reserves.
