Today I'm beginning seven, 12"x12" abstract mixed media landscapes on cradled wood panels that will be a birthday gift for my husband. The paintings are loosely based on a green, monochrome grid journal page that I made last week that gave me the idea for my color palette and the garden-inspiration.

Materials used: acrylic paint, collage paper, and color shapers, neocolor crayons, and Stabilo Woody crayons.

I just love the ColorSync you chose for these panels, especially when you added the bright yellow spots! That was when the sun began to shine!😊 I’m so curious to see how they evolve! Watching you paint is always a pleasure and I really appreciate that you‘re sharing the whole process with all these feelings of curiosity, hesitation, audacity, doubt, self-confidence and joy. Sooo... Tuesday I had to take hubby to A&E (ER), and we brought home covid. Yeaaaah. So I'm laying in bed feeling very ill and sorry for myself. So when I saw this video came up it cheered me up. 😊 Really enjoyed watching this one and can't wait for the other parts. I'm also working on an art piece (which is on hold) and I'd been laying here thinking of which direction to take it. And something in your video gave me an idea. Yay. 😊

LOL! I wondered where the other paintings went. I really, really love these paintings (so far). Not always a fan of painying with green (and I'm a gardener!) but, this has me thinking. Love the payne's gray - can't wait to see if that's still there next time! You are hilarious with the collage elements but I liked the green pieces you cut up. I have the same thoughts about- will this be done with the first layer! Ta-da---- but then usually not- but I have done a few that were complete with the first layer- it was like- after thinking and stewing for a day or so- I said DONE! But the majority of my work is many layers and changes in color from one to another and back again to the first! LOL- Ta Da!
